Vibrations? The tremor came again. She knew that sound. The tombs were opening. The Creation solstice! The release of souls had begun! Maybe this time I will be chosen! If her crypt opened she would rise again. Tanouie fervently hoped it would be so. It must be so she realized, or how would she know hope? She could feel it. Whereas, in vaporised status, her eons of all knowing amounted to nothingness. It was fading. Becoming... something.
She was transitioning. To what? Life?
"Yesss!" She had a voice! "I am so ready for something!" Her spoken words tinkled musically in the glowing cavern.
The magnetic vibrations drew her particles together as a kaleidoscope of coloured light flooded the chamber. All over her. From her! At last!
"I am a light being.... a rainbow fairy. I'm me!" She whispered, feeling the joy of it. So much more than her expectations of returning as a glow worm, or a firefly! Incredulously she observed the roof of her golden crypt opening to release the joyous, multi colours of her rainbow to the Universe. To her home."Yes!" The impact was mutual. A surge of love sent her energy into the rainbow, and she knew the instant her spirit was reconnected to the Earth. She felt the love returned, creating her. Her eyes were the first of the physical senses to come into being, but the rest quickly followed. The life force levitated Tanouie's ethereal form from the golden dust of the crypt floor, as her mind re-connected to her physical senses and made her a visible, conscious being. Her form was that of a woman, five foot two in stature, human in appearance, except for her elegantly pointed ears. She inspected her perfect limbs. Everything appeared to be in order.
But her excitement steadied, as her dainty feet touched the golden floor, connecting her fully to the physical plane of existence her body was in. She was not home in the flesh.
Tangibility brought back her memories of past experiences at the hands of the Council. This was too soon, and too good to be true. Were they really going to give her back her wings? Her autonomy to choose a host? Or was her fate dependant on some service ultimatum they had decided she needed? Their 'free will' policy was a joke, amounting to blackmail.
"Ha! Do it or go back to the void," she muttered. "Some choice!" So what are they up to this time? She flexed her fingers and her rainbow sent a shower of coloured sparks around the tomb. Her power was intact. What a shame she had promised not to use it. "A few of them could use a stint, hopping around in a frog host."Memories of some of their training theories soured her joy somewhat.
She wouldn't put it past them to keep her mute, in some grass paddock to be munched up by cows, or a tree sprite. Humility training! She huffed. Had they decided she needed to witness her own ignominy? After all, the mission was to teach humans to consciously harmonise at cellular level. But she was hardly in need of that lesson. Self sacrifice to the greater good, was an onerous concept to accept willingly, even at her level. But she was here wasn't she? And she had proven her ability to inspire it in others. It was not her fault if that also involved the elevation of underdogs to challenge the status quo. Or was she to remain on this dull planet, and put up with the Holy Council's incessant lectures?
"Ugh! Please, no! Anything but that..." Be patient! She warned her racing mind to settle. She must be prepared for any eventuality. She only hoped it took her back to Earth.
But being a visible being did not mean she would be called to serve a human host. It only meant that she had been offered up to the Universe. Renewed. Her time of exile was over. Her time of sacrifice was at hand. She would not be set free without such expectation. It was a test, but the choice was always hers. Once she accepted an incarnation, her path was dependant on the free will of a host. Or she could be relegated to a lower life form, possessing the magnetic attraction of elements matching hers. A host not yet born into whatever form its elements were called to serve. But perhaps it's birth was at hand? It was a lottery on the surface of things, but the matrix kept track of every element, and ensured it's placement was a perfect fit, even though its purpose or composition may be oblique. There was no such thing as chance encounters. Only their outcomes, and the physical recycling of matter was an eternal process, as was the evolution of souls. Each had a unique purpose, and an individual journey. Her purpose was to share the journey, and experience all that it chose, or was destined to do.
In the case of conscious intelligence, her mission goal was to make it aware of higher dimensions and the connectivity of all matter. Ultimately, her personal goal was to understand it all herself, so she could hopefully get it over and done with! It was a big concept, and a slow process. Rarely achieved by the host beyond flashes of 'inspiration', generally attributed to their own brilliance. As their soul guardian, she must be patient, and suffer the frustration of any teacher, trying to get through the veils of ignorance that protected the young from getting ahead of themselves in power, before the acquisition of wisdom.
The patience aspect of the job was no joke. Inevitably, they would die in the flesh, releasing her to carry their essential life force back to the knowing, and connecting it to its ongoing story. Of course, entities would know who she was by that stage, and depending on their performance, would get another incarnation – or not. But it would always be in tandem with a guardian. And her performance as such, would be evaluated by the Council. All would be recorded by the Universal matrix. Nothing was ever lost or overlooked. The Universal purpose, was to repeat these processes in ever evolving combinations, until flesh integrated with mind and soul, and chose to harmonise. Until all was One in power and knowledge. But with physical individuality, and the free will to relish life to the fullest. That was the Universal goal. Under the covenant, her working mission was to guide the process.
An Endless mission? It was certainly making inroads into her personal life. Tanouie flexed her small shoulders, as the weight of her responsibilities settled back upon them. The Universe was infinite. Would all its evolving parts ever get it together? Not without effective guidance. She had no guarantee of achieving that, but had in the past. Several times to disastrous effect. Learning was a two way process. And then some! She rolled her eyes at the glimmering patch of stars overhead. Conceding that at least some bright spark had convinced the Council to stop wasting her time.
"Let this journey begin, Old Ones. Tanouie is ready."
Destiny was not set in stone. The gift of free will was sacred, and must be preserved at all costs. If a shiver of fear of the unknown passed through her body, her fairy face was calm as she stepped into the rainbow. Her wings were granted, and instantly carried her to the surface. The tangible gossamer of her soul colours clothed her in trailing wisps, floating on the updraught.
