Klaus first heard her. He heard a laugh, a laugh that expressed sincere joy and happiness. It was a usual day for him, only the place he chose for his breakfast was different. The café he went to every morning had been closed for two weeks for renovation purpose. Klaus didn't enjoy change. He felt grumpy about change of scenery and wanted to leave at the earliest. That's when he saw her. Her bubbly laughter took his attention and he was surprised. He had never seen more beauty in simplicity. A simple pony, light mascara, black t-shirt, blue jeans, and a scarf. That's all there was to this girl. Under ordinary conditions he wouldn't have given her a second look but there was something really appealing about her. She radiated a certain sense of calmness in him. Klaus felt peaceful
"You know what. God himself came and told me that you're getting that internship. You know he doesn't lie to me. So don't you worry John. This is yours."
Klaus couldn't help smiling listening to her speak. Who talks like that?! Klaus was surprised to find himself  smiling. "I want to know her." Klaus decided.
"Klaus!! Hey Klaus! Come on over here mate! It's been so long!"  Someone called out to Klaus.
His thoughts were interrupted by the guy Anna was talking to. John was an old friend of Klaus, they had been classmates for nearly 5 years. Klaus felt weirdly happy about getting a chance to speak to Anna. "Oh, shut up!" He told himself.
Klaus walked over to the table where John (and Anna) were seated and exchanged pleasantries with John while giving Anna a polite smile.
"Hello. I'm Anna Carter. Nice to meet you." She smiled as she introduced herself to Klaus.
'You have an amazing smile Anna Carter. I'd love to be the reason behind it!'
Klaus was surprised by himself for thinking like that. He snapped back to the present and introduced himself to Anna. John asked Klaus to join them for breakfast, and Klaus was happy with the proposal. He wanted to know more about Anna Carter.
Anna was quite impressed by Klaus. She found him really interesting. Anna had caught Klaus looking at her a number of times but she never guessed the reason. She was one of those people who were eternally beautiful but never realised it. Anna knew from the moment she laid her eyes upon Klaus that he would never be interested in her, let alone falling in love with her. Klaus appeared to be a person who'd fall for curves and skinny long legs. She had neither. Anna pushed this ridiculous thought aside and engaged in a conversation with John and Klaus. Fate played it cards and Anna and Klaus were enrolled to the same internship at Whitmore College. Klaus did a silent "yaaaay" in his head and caught himself by surprise. Anna was delighted by the news but settled to show a smile on her face.
Thus began their story. Thus the light met the dark. Thus Anna encountered the biggest challenge of her life. Thus Klaus discovered a new human emotion: Love. Anna would be the person to change Klaus's life and the one Klaus would trust. Neither knew how much their lives were going to change after that one breakfast.
