To a new beginning.

"Anna! Annnnnnnnnnnn! Anna! Wake up you ogre. It's 7! Wake up or else Mike is going to hunt you down and burn you. Oh my god you woman. Wake up!"

Maddison, Anna's roommate, best friend and her soul sister was shaking Anna off the bed.
"Ughs Anna. EVERY MORNING. EVERY BLOODY MORNING I HAVE TO MAKE SURE YOU BRING YOUR ARSE TO THE BLOODY UNIVERSITY. WAKE UP YOU MORON!"

" Go away Maddy! I need to sleep."

" Okay then. I'll let Klaus know you're not coming. He has been calling since 6! Sleep tight!"

This was enough to wake Anna up. Maddison knew the exact words to pull Anna out of bed. She was Anna's best friend for a reason. Anna had told her about the weird attraction she felt towards Klaus. Maddison had never seen Anna be so attracted to someone. She was happy for Anna but she had to find out more about Klaus. She was not going to let some douche hurt her best friend. As much as Maddison loved Anna, she knew Anna was very vulnerable. She loved Anna for who she was. Anna's nature, her ability to find the best in people made Anna who she was. But her nature made it easy for people to use her, to take her advantage. Maddison had seen Anna at her worst. She had seen what trusting people and getting their betrayal had made Anna. Anna was a breath of fresh air, a ball of sunshine, she made everybody happy around her. Maddison knew one thing for sure. She would never leave Anna's side. Anna would not change, her nature would never change. She knew there would be a day when Anna would need her the most and she had made promise to herself to never leave Anna's side.

"Maddy? Maddison..what's wrong with you."

Maddison snapped back to reality. Anna was staring at her.

"Maddison? Is everything okay? I've been calling you for 5 minutes. Why do have that look on your face? Is everything okay Maddy?"

"Oh don't become my mother Ann. I'm fine. I was simply staring at your sexy ass. It's a treat to look at."

Anna smiled. Maddison was back. She loved making sexual comments about Anna. People thought they were lesbians. Anna was sure that if she really was gay, Maddy would be her partner.

"I'm waaaaaaaaaaay out of your league Maddison. Huh."

They burst out laughing.

"ANNA! STOP YAPPING AWAY. IT IS 7.20! MIKE IS GOING TO SELL YOUR SOUL. CAN'T YOU ONCE NOT BE LATE?! Go run your moron!"
"Crap." Anna ran around the room in a vain attempt to be on time. Well, not on time, but not very late.

"Welcome Miss Anna. We've all been waiting for you to grace us with your presence." Mike looked annoyed. Anna turned red.

"Sorry. My alarm didn't go off." Anna said in a small voice.

Mike relaxed. "Geez Ann. When will you learn that you cannot lie?! It is written all over your stupid face." He laughed.

"Oops. Sorry Mike. I just cannot leave my bed all alone. It is lovely. We sleep together. Eat together. How can I leave it?! It is depressing to wake up every morning. I want to only sleep." She sulked.

" Anna I would have thrown you out of the program ages ago for your lazy arse but I can't. Of all the fools enrolled, you're the only one who knows what to do. As much as you annoy me, you're my best and last hope."

"Oh you know you love me Mike."

"Yeah yeah Ann. Now shut up and get started with the write up on the topic I gave you. I need it by today evening. Please Ann. I need our group to get this competition. We need to work really hard. We got this internship but our best chance to get a permanent place in this institution is by performing our best throughout these two years. I know this is not what you had planned for but I promise if we get through this time, they'll give you the best recommendation you could hope for. Thank you so much for doing this Ann.
