It was getting late in the night but I was determined to finish the paramount of work Mr. I screw everything dumped on me. Hahah I'll show him who's boss I smirked to myself but glancing at the watch I realised it was 7 pm. And Davon hadn't left yet. Which means I wouldn't leave either. Two can play this game, you evil not so little demon.
Just when I was about to finish entering the data of the new investors and their contacts on my computer I heard a knock on my door.
"Come in" I said without glancing up. I already knew it was Davon since we both were the only ones in office.
"Well well well isn't it the busy bee of the office. How did your first day in nectar collection go?" he mocked
"It went quite well actually. Not everyone is busy pollinating everything that moves" I said with an equally sarcastic tone.
"What can I say? The ladies love me like bees to honey. I am rather irresistable."
"Arrogant. Cocky. Useless And Pigheaded. My oh my all qualitites that make a lady swoon." I quipped with sarcasm dripping off my words.
"Don't be jealous. This isn't princess diaries, sweet Mia."
"Oh so you're telling me you've read the books eh?" I laughed and looked up at him.
He was staring out of the window in my office, looking over the hustle and traffic that came with this beautiful city called New york. Growing up here I only went out of this place to Boston for college. The rest of the my existance was spent here. I had seen my office had a great view overlooking the Avenue street but I was so busy I had neither the time or the leisure to enjoy the view.
Glancing back at Davon I saw as he looked out of the window his expression had changed from jovial and fun loving to dark and brooding. Did I strike a chord with my last statement?
" I used to read it to someone I loved alot" he replied with a certain sadness in his eyes.
I looked at my fingers that were intwining within themselves feeling ashamed. Great going Mia, I facepalmed myself. Even your jokes hit people in the feels.
"I'm sorry.. I.. I didn't mean it that way" I say trying to sound as sincere as my voice would let me. Looking up at him slowly, I realised he was still staring out. With his light blue suit and dark blue shirt I couldn't help myself. He was a very handsome man despite my hate towards him. I finally understood why the girls were drooling over him and begging for his attention. He had a sense of aura to him that drove you like a moth drawn to flame. You knew he'd burn you but the was irresistable.
"How are you planning to go home? I don't see you driving a car and hailing a public transport or cab would be very difficult with the rush at this hour." He said without looking at me pulling me out of my trance.
I gulped and replied "It's okay I'll manage. I.. I'll find a way. I always do."
Swiftly moving away from the window he stood infront of my desk and glanced at me with commanding eyes
"Pack your bags. I'm dropping you home"
"But.. I "
"I said pack your bags now. That wasn't a question Mia."
Scurrying I hurridly packed my bag as he awaited me holding the door open for me. He started walking towards the elevator and I can swear he was walking faster than the speed of light. Like 3 X 100000000 fast. Is he a vampire or usain fucking bolt?
I tried to keep up with him but my heels refused to bulge so I was way behind. Tomorrow onwards I'll carry my reeboks with me.
As the elevator opened we both jumped in. Standing to the god awful tune of the elevator for what seemed like hours I suddenly saw Davon staring at me from the mirror. He was leaning on the wall and just observing me. FREAKKKK. Was all my mind was shouting but I couldn't help stare into his eyes. Stareoff competition it is.
Finally the elevator binged and we reached the parking lot. He walked ahead of me as I followed him in silence. We came to stop at a sexy black Ferrari that left my mouth hanging. He drives THIS? I looked up to see him smirking at my reaction. Putting on my best poker face I got in the passenger seat and put on my seat belt. This bozo didn't even have the decency to close the door I quipped internally.
He started the car and speed off. I decided to turn on the radio because the silence was killing me.

I heard someone laughing so loudly so I turned to the side to see Davon with tearsin his eyes as he was trying hard not to laugh but failed miserably. Only then did I realise I shouted out the chorus like the toad I was and that made me blush in embaressment.
"So you want to find your Taylor swift eh? I can imagine you writing songs about your breakups and cats" He replied after he finally caught his breath.
"Shutup you dodo."
After 5 mins I saw us nearing my flat. I looked at him and he was shocked I lived in a neighbourhood like this. I stepped out of the car to see him walk out like as if an old lady would pounce off the garbage bags and eat him alive. This made me laugh out loud.
" You live here? "
" Yes I do and thank you for the ride. See you later alligator"
"What are we in grade three?"
I stuck my tongue out to him and he replied whatever goodnight and got in the ferrari and speed off like he had just seen King kong running towards him.
Opening the door I realised I hadn't given him the address to my place.
So how did he know?
