Mekarino's POV
•Time skip 2 days•
"Hello? You awake yet? Anakazi?" Cathrina asked through the door.
"Yeah, I'm awake. Why?" I grumbled.
"Lady Hokage wants you, Ice, and me to meet her in her office at noon." She informs.
I look at the clock and see that it was 10:00 a.m. "Okay, I'll meet you in the lobby in an hour." I called.
I slept for a good twenty minutes more, then stretched and crawled out of bed. Throwing on my normal clothes, I brushed my hair. I grabbed my bag, filling it with the normal gear. Then I headed down the stairs and into the lobby.
"Ready to go?" I asked them. They nodded. "Then let's head off then."
We got to Tsunade's office and were brought in.
"What you do need, Tsunade-sama?" I asked.
"I called you three here to tell you something, Mekarino!" She spat. I flinched.
"Gomennasai..." I muttered. 'She sounds grumpy today. Maybe somebody stole her sake.'
"Anyway, you three are going to be on a squad together," Tsunade said, "and you already have a mission."
"What?!" Ice exclaimed. "What do you mean, 'You three are going to be on a team, and you already have a mission'?"
"Exactly what she said, Ice." I said, turning to Tsunade. "What's the mission, Tsunade-sama?"
"It's a spying mission. I chose you three because you are Nekos and you have excellent hearing and scencing abilities. You will be spying on the Akatsuki."
"T-The Akatsuki?" I stammered.
"Something wrong?" She lifts an eyebrow.
"N-No Tsunade-sama. I'm just surprised, that's all."
"Okay then. You will be leaving at 6:00 pm today. Make sure you're ready."
I glanced at the clock. It was 4:30.
"Yes Tsunade-sama." I said, slightly bowing.
"You are all excused." she told us.
We left later that day and headed for the headquarters.
"Are you sure you know where you're going, Mekarino?"
"Sure do. I know this place like the back of my hand." I told her. "I used to have these kind of missions all the time."
We walked for a few hours, occasionally stopping to rest when needed.
"We're almost there. It's within view!" I pointed towards the rocky cave hideout. "When we get to it, you hide. They know me, so they won't hurt me. I'll go in and see what I can do."
"Okay." Ice said.
"Right!" Cathrina obeyed.
When we got there, Cathrina and Ice hid in the rocks around the opening, while I headed towards the entrance. I then slid in through the doorway.
Once in, I headed straight for Deidara's room. 'I hope he's here.' I thought. 'if not, I'll have to find Itachi.'
I opened his door and popped my head in. Deidara spun around, his left hand in his clay pouch.
"Whoa, blondy. You don't want to blow your girlfriend up, do you?" I said sarcastically.
"Mekarino? Is that really you?" He asked. "Because if you're Itachi or Kisame,I'll kill you, un."
"No, it's actually me, Dei." I told the nice looking blond.
"Meka!" He yelled, pouncing on me.
"Hey, I thought I was the cat, not you!" I exclaimed, rolling us over to where I was on top of him.
"Deidara, are you being weird again?" I heard Sasori ask.
"No, Sasori, I'm here." I replied.
Sasori popped his head in. "Oh, hi Mekarino. I didn't know you were back." He looked at us and laughed. "Tsk tsk tsk. You two are so rediculous."
I then flipped off the Puppet Mastef.
"So? What if we are?"
He just snickered and headed out the door. "Have fun you two!"
"Will do!" Dei yelled. Deidara then turned in my direction again. He had that damn look in his eye.
"Dei, no!" I yelled, covering myself with the blanket. "I have to tell you something anyway."
He came to my side, suddenly scared. "What is it?"
"You know when I left for that mission a few days ago?"
"Yeah....."
"Well I got caught by a Jonin out in the woods, and..." I looked away.
"What happened, Meka?"
I gulped. "Well I was forced into a Neko Hotel and thrown into a team with two other nekos and givin a mission to spy on the Akatsuki."
He looked shocked by this, but then asked, "Are they with you now?"
"Yeah...."
"Well you need to bring them in so the don't get killed outside!" He whisper-yelled.
"Okay, give me ten minutes to convince them when I get outside."
