I was awakened by the rattling of my fathers old VW truck, the rattling and screeching sounded like a dying animal. We were always on the move. My dad is a traveling musician, so we never really stay in one place for long. The truck smells of beer, my dad has been a alcoholic since I was about 6-ish, but he understands the dangers he can cause when drunk, so he keeps his distance sometimes. My mother died a few years back. So it's just me and my dad. I feel I barely know him. I'm homeschooled. And my home(s) consist of hotels we happen to pass on our travels.
My name is Sofia, I have dirty blonde hair, pale face with freckles sprayed across my cheeks, I resemble my dad mostly, but instead my father has brown eyes instead of green. And dreads instead of long, straight hair.
My stare out the window was short lived when my father's phone rang.
"Yes this is he," my father began.
"Wait no. Are you sure you have the right guy?" With all the movies I've watched. I was sure something was wrong. I raised an eyebrow to show I wanted to know who it was, but he just shrugged. "Okay. Alright. Thank you for calling." I flailed my arms, motioning to his phone "Who was that?" My father sighed deep. "They dropped me. That was my boss, I mean ex boss, I've been replaced," I looked down. This is bad. This is really bad. My dad was the one who worked. And payed for my homeschooling. "So what now?" I stammered, my tone becoming more serious. He looked at me with a frown "I'm sorry Soph. I don't know"*short chapter woooooooooooooaaaaaaaaah*
