Blue was helping his friend, Melissa, better known as Tailette, with a computer program they were making. They were going to call it C.O.M., the Computer of Operational Mechanism. Then Tailette went to get something. "I need to get a voice maker for him," she said. "I'll be right back."
Blue guarded the lab with hammer in hand. He stopped when he saw a crab bot in the doorway. He smashed the bot thinking to himself, "ever see just one of Eggman's bots, Blue?" He ran out of the room to look for more robots, but little did he know that Cubot and Orbot were hiding and came out to try to steal C.O.M.!

"Hurry," said Orbot, "before he comes back!" They grabbed the device that C.O.M. was being programmed in. As they were just about to escape, Blue caught them. "Ha ha!" he said, "caught ya!" "It's a good thing Eggman came with us in case we got caught!" Cubot blurted. "Shush!" Said Orbot. "Don't tell him!" Blue rolled his eyes and threw one of his 'hammerangs' at where he knew Eggman was: hiding in the closet. "OW!" Eggman screamed, "I gotta SIT ON THAT!" He flied out on his Eggmobile and shot a laser at a desk and items fell on Blue covering him. Eggman flew out of the lab. Blue went into the Hurricane and pulled a lever. Just then, Tailette was coming back with her device. "Blue, no!" She gasped when she saw what he was about to do. "That's the HYPERDRIVE!" Too late. Blue blasted off at light speed.
The Hurricane crashes into the Eggmobile which falls into a lake. Panicking, Blue turns to the left, crashing into Eggman's lair. Still going, Blue pulls the steering wheel back, making the Hurricane turn around. It then crashes into a weathervane, and goes through the ground. It then comes out scattering members of the Lightning Bolt Society around— which meant that he crashed into Lightning Bolt Society HQ. Blue again pulls the steerer back making it go in the sky. He finally found the way to turn off the hyperdrive right as he was leaving the stratosphere. He then turned the ship down and went back to the lab where Tailette was waiting, face-palmed.
"Did I do good on my first flight?" Blue asked. Tailette groans. Then they hear an unfamiliar voice behind them. "Hello. I am C.O.M., your personal lab assistant." It turned out that Cubot dropped the device on his way out! There was a problem with C.O.M.'s voice so Tailette connected the talking device to him. (He could talk much better then) "Oh." He said. "Thank you. I feel much better now." And that's how C.O.M. came to being.
