Another thing girls highly underestimate about guys is how jealous they can get. Seriously, once you are his, he will do anything to keep you. And boys can get self conscious around other guys.
Say you are out in a group of friends. Mixed gender. And one of the lads starts messing around with you, joking, play fighting, chasing you. And your boyfriends sat there watching all this happen. He starts getting jealous. What if this other boy is a bit better looking, or smarter, or whatever, than your boyfriend. Now he's afraid of losing you, and he's going to do something stupid which could make everything awkward for everyone.
That isn't to say you can't hang around with other guys. But just know your limits when it comes to 'social interaction'.
