as jieun rushed to the scene, her mouth gaped wide open. laying there lifelessly in the bathtub with his hair, clothes and body soaked wet was park jimin, the love of her life. she took tiny steps towards him, hoping that this was all a dream. but it was not. she spotted a piece of paper slightly wetted, placed on top of the outer side of the bathtub. jieun's hands trembled as she picked it up. upon reading the contents, she brought her fists together, crushing it up in her hands. uncontrollable tears fell out of her eyes continuously, but she couldn't bother to wipe them off now.

if you're ever reading this, it would probably mean that i'm really dead.
mianhae, jieun-ah. i know suicide was a really selfish decision that would inflict endless amount of injuries on you, but nevertheless i did it. i hate myself. because of me, our relationships were on the rocks multiple times. i'm sorry that i wasn't able to protect you and in the future i won't be able to do so too. i'm sorry that i have to leave you behind first.
you're such a beautiful angel and i love you so so much, you know that? when you smile, it's like the whole world lights up instantly. and because you're so precious, i really don't wish to see you breaking down into tears often while thinking of me. as long as you're happy, i don't mind seeing you with another man since i'm not around anymore. move on soon, yah?
lastly... i'm sorry that i fell in love with you.

jieun's world crumbled down on her. how was she going to deal with such a sudden loss, especially when it was someone whom she met almost every single day?

for the next few months, jieun was simply a walking, lifeless body. she refused to eat, sleep, go outside, or even do anything. she locked herself up in her room the whole day, her mind trailing off towards the memories she shared with jimin. she would hug her knees close to her and bury her head in while sobbing.

until one day, she decided to just text jimin. despite knowing that he would never read or reply to her messages, she just wanted to fill up a tiny portion of the emptiness in her heart.

kimjieun:
jimin-ah, are you doing well up there?

kimjieun:
are you eating well?

kimjieun:
are you sleeping well?

kimjieun:
i know i look like such a crazy fool right now,
but who actually cares?

kimjieun:
i miss you a lot.

jieun was about to place her phone down on the nightstand and go back to her world of thoughts, until a sudden motion on the screen caught her attention. she checked to see what it was, and she was shocked. in an instant, all the messages that she sent had been 'blue-ticked', indicating that they had been read. jieun batted her eyelids a few times to check that she wasn't hallucinating, but the truth laid before her eyes.

kimjieun:
y... y... yah...

kimjieun:
what's going on???

kimjieun:
if this is a prank, please stop right now.

kimjieun:
i really don't appreciate it.

jiminnie:
i missed you too.
