Zack's not the most romantic guy, right? Well... It may be you force him a little bit to be romantic for once ;)
And that's why it akes him two tries to get you to become his wife.

With a relived sigh I sit down next to one of my best friends.
"Awwww... Already tired? You're getting old, babe", Jack teases. I stick my tongue out at him and feel an arm wrap around my waist. I know it's Zack just by the way he holds me. Instantly I snuggle into his side and cause Jack to fake to throw up.
"Jealous shit", Zack laughs quietly.
"No way. I love being single and now I'm gonna go and enjoy it! Have fun, party poopers", Jack grins and leaves us at our table. Zack rolls his eyes but we both watch Jack burst into a group of girls. He starts dancing with them and my eyes search the dancefloor for something that doesn't cause second-hand embarrassment for me.
"Look", I smile and nod into the direction of the newlyweds. An old friend of the bands got married this afternoon and we are still at the party. It was a beautiful and touching ceremony and it nearly made me tear up – if it wasn't for Jack constantly cracking stupid jokes right into my ear. The whole band and so many other people we knew were invited so it was so much fun for all of us.

"They look really happy", Zack smiles back and watches them. I lay my hand onto his knee and give it a gentle squeeze. He turns his head around to look at me. I lean over to peck his lips and his smile widens.
"I love you", he mumbles.
"Love you too", I giggle back.
Suddenly something else shines through Zacks eyes and I tilt my head in a questioning manner. He licks his lips and grins at me. Okaaaay... what is he thinking now?
In the next second he surprises me entirely with what he says.
"They look happy, we love each other... A wedding would be the perfect topping for our relationship, right? Want to marry me?", he asks with a wide grin.
I stare blankly at him for a moment, then I start to just full on laugh. Zacks grin falls and he pouts a bit.
"What's wrong? What's so funny?"
"Zack that was the best joke I heard in a long time", I chuckle fondly and stroke his cheek lightly.
"But it wasn't a joke! How about we get married, baby?", he asks again and slowly but surely it gets through my thick head, that he actually means it.
"How about no?"
"What? Why?", Zack asks with a sad frown.
"You have to be a bit more creative and romantic to win my heart, Merrick", I giggle and stick out my tongue at my boyfriend: "I'm not gonna say yes to a proposal you thought about for a second just cause we are on a wedding and you think it's cute to marry."
His pout gets bigger and his brown eyes look so big and sad I can't take it and cover them with my hand.
"No way, sweetheart. At least not like this. You don't even have a ring with you", I smile and peck his lips again. He sighs against my lips and I take my hand from his eyes.
"Well... It was worth a try", he smiles back.
"It was and now let's make out and annoy everyone", I giggle and he chuckles with me. With easy he pulls me into his lap and brings me close to him. We start kissing and I melt into his soft touches. Even though Zack looks like the Hulk he is the most careful person you can find on this earth. I love how his big and strong hands manage to touch me so lightly I can barely feel it.
"Urgh. Gross. I knew I had to get away from you two...", I hear Jack in the back of my mind.
"Hello?! Do you even listen to me? You. Are. Gross", he complains again and I chuckle against Zacks lips. We both open our eyes but don't actually part from each other.
"Fuck off, Jack", Zack mumbles and gives him the finger.
"Get a room", Jack laughs loudly but Zack and I are kissing again...
Little did I know Zack was already planning his next try to ask me to be his wife...

About a month later I'm totally exhausted.
Jacks a beast. Really. I hate him. I hate him so freaking much. He dragged me for a whole day through all the shops there are. Literally everyone. Even the shitty ones we never go in. But he insisted we had to at least take a look.
Already three hours ago I wanted to go home, but Jack wouldn't let me. He clung to my arm and begged me to stay with him cause he's so lonely and sad he'll cry if I go home. I pitied him a little bit at that and agreed to maybe stay for another hour... or two... or three. Sigh.
"Zack? I'm home!"
I drop the bags with my new clothes next to our little wardrobe and take of my shoes.
"Hey!", a smiley Zack enters the hallway and I frown at his outfit.
"We got to go somewhere important?", I ask and eye his outfit.
He has on some black jeans and a light blue button down shirt with his sleeves rolled up to his elbow but no socks or shoes on. He always puts them on last or not at all cause he doesn't like wearing socks at home.
He shakes his head with a light laugh.
"Can't I look good for my beautiful girlfriend?"
I blush and smile at him: "And why?"
He reaches out for my hand and I immediately lay my hand in his bigger one. He intertwines our fingers and pulls me with him through our living room.
"What are you doing?", I ask him curiously.
"You'll see in a second", he smiles back at me and walks over to our little balcony. We step out and I gasp.
All over the tiles are petals of red roses and on our little table are a few candles lit and there is already dinner waiting for us and two glasses of champagne.
"Wow... Zack... Wow", I'm at the loss for words and just stare at the whole scene in front of me as Zack smiles fondly and slowly lowers himself onto one knee.
"What did I do to deserve this?", I ask and eye him suspiciously. Hopefully he didn't broke something or did something really stupid.
"You deserved it by being the most stunning girl I ever saw. By being the nicest and loveliest person I met in my whole life. By being so wonderful I can't find enough words to express you inner and outer beauty. I actually think the words I'd like to describe you and my love for you don't exist in the English language...", he starts and I blush.
His voice is shushed and soft and he wets his lips before he speaks again.
"I'm not a man of big words and I'm really bad at them as you see. But I tried my best to make it romantic. This is the most romantic thing I could think of and know... well... Would you make me the happiest man alive and marry me?"
"Oh my god, yes!", it slips out of my mouth before I can control it. Zack jumps up and I fly into his arms. He tightens his grip around me and I literally sob quiet yeses into his shoulder.
After a minute he lets go of me and pulls out a little black box. He opens it and I see the most beautiful ring I could think of.
"It'll be hard to top this one", I giggle as he pulls it out. He gently takes my left hand to slide it on my ring finger.
"What for?", he asks and lays his hand on my cheek to dry my tears.
"The actual wedding ring? It has to be even more beautiful", I giggle through my tears and he starts chuckling with me.
"I love you, my fiancé."
"I love you, too", I smile at Zack and we share a soft kiss.
"This was a better proposal?", he asks with a slight smirk and I nod my head furiously.
"This is a story I'm not ashamed to yell out to the world", I grin cheekily up at my new fiancé.
"So you just didn't say yes on the wedding, cause you wanted a cute proposal so you can show off with it?"
"Maybe", I shrug and grin.
"You're unbelievable", he laughs but sends me a loving look.
