Thunder. Rain. Ice cold winds. These are small effective signs to let all life on Vergi know that warm joyful days are coming to a close for the year. The flying animals leave the continent in search of another for temporary duration, and others embrace the cold by starting to grow thick skin or fur. Many dig deep underground with buckets of food. And some swim out to a different land to call home until winter melts away with a graceful death.
Speaking of which, that is precisely what hynines do during winter season. They all swim off to another region that promises warmth and comfort. Boshi and his brother's begin to blindly fallow mom and dad early in the morning. It will be a long swim, so it's best to get started early.
They wander through the land not stopping not once. Making excellent time to the coast-line. The mother lifts the young up and into the water one by one. The father goes out into the ocean first, ahead of everyone. By this time the mother's fat has be completely removed. She was able to swim at the same speeds as her partner. The children won't be able to swim as fast as their parents which is roughly around twenty miles per hour, but they can still stay relatively close to them on their long pilgrimage to the other continent.
The mother grips them on by one with the gums section of her mouth. Each of them goes into the water for the first time in their lives. One of them seems to be scared of the water and tries to swim out, but mom is having none of that. She catches him with ease and places him back into the water. They are all in this together, no checking out for anybody. The cubs already know to start kicking their feet as soon as they hit the water due to instinctive knowledge.
Although they understand what to do, they couldn't go find a body of water to practice in, for hynines usually live a far ways from any coast -line, and as you remember the cubs won't run too far from their parents. It's a dangerous world out there anything and everything wouldn't think twice about bringing an end to the life a something so young. Something so innocent?
In no time all the cubs are in the water. The mother goes in last and swims up to father at intermediate speed. The cubs watch as she goes to him to know that it is time for them to fallow them to parts unknown. It is highly likely that during this voyage anyone of them could die. Large sea creatures could confuse them for another type of pray, and lunge at one of the cubs, or parents.
Another reason for death during transportation is a have deplete of stamina before they reach the designation. The adults have no problem tiring out, but the cubs do. They will simple stop swimming and sink. Sometimes one of the parents or other cubs can get to them and carry them on their backs while swimming. This is the reason why females look for strong male swimmers during mating season. It is possibly the most attractive thing about a male.
Our family of hynines begins their journey with no trouble at all. Everyone is swimming at a fast speed through the water. Some of the cubs even play, by diving under water, and dashing back upwards. It is a quick yet leisurely. They should be to land in no time.
It has been an hour sense they departed from home in order to see unfamiliar land to the mind, and familiar to the instinctive heart. As we look at the family as a whole everyone seems to be doing alright. However if we zoom in we can see that one of the cubs is slowly but surely starting to tucker out. No one in the group notices this. Hopefully this will not become a problem, and someone will notice the disturbance of the Boshi's brother. The swim out into calm waters. Even though what they were in wasn't sever, these are still noticeably more steady.
They continue on with their travels unaware that they are being watched by a hungry sea creature. This creature is known as a coral-head. They are as large as a school bus put together, and as wide as an average sized high school class room. They are known for swallowing prey in one massive gulp. With such a large size, it can be very attempting.
