My name is Dr. John S. Sakars and I have been studying cringe for years. As a child, I was exposed to cringe in several aspects of my everyday life. Media, interactions with certain people, other scenarios. Although these things occurred, I found myself lacking the words to describe them. That was until one day, when watching an episode of Spongebob, I finally started to research cringe and its impacts on the body. That inquiry was the spark of inspiration that led me into the field of Cringeology. I started my career at around the age of 2, and after 7 years of study I acquired a doctorate at the "Club Penguin University". After verification from the Cringe Psychological Association, I used my degree to further pursue a career in Cringeology, and ended up becoming a lead professor of Cringeology, studying Cringe for 5 years, and then founding the "Sakars Cringe University" in Muncie, Indiana in 2011.
The content written in this book is a general introductory overview of the conclusions I have drawn from my years in the field. As with many pieces of scientific data, my conclusions are subject to criticism, as Cringeology is a relatively new field. If anyone else here is in the field of Cringeology, feel free to correct me if you happen to catch a fallacy in my research with data or conclusions of your own.
Without further a due, I present, Cringe.
Additionally, current research in the cringe field readers can participate in is located in the "Cringe Data Collection" part. Results will be posted when there are significant responses, I'd highly encourage you to share but I'm not coercing you to do so.
