All my life I'd been a straight B student. Not perfect, but good enough to get a few scholarships for college. I studied meticulously for every test, exam, and final. Note cards, songs, reading and rereading notes; whatever it took to ensure I did my best. This test I couldn't study for. A simple song wouldn't help. Note cards hidden around the house couldn't prepare me. For the first time, I am not happy with passing this test. I should be elated, but I can't muster up the joy I'm supposed to feel.
