Preston's POV

I smiled and nodded, hiding the fact that I was still in pain from when my boyfriend broke up with me.

There was a time, I used to look into my fathers' eyes. In a happy home, I was a king I had a golden throne. Those days are gone, now the memories are on the wall.

I felt a gaze on me and I looked out of the corner of my eye to see one of my bestfriends, Lachlan, staring at me. When he noticed, his blushed slightly. I wasn't sure if it was from embarrassment, or like, an actual blush. 

I hear the songs from the place where I was born. Upon the hill across the blue lake, that's where I had my first heartbreak. I still remember how it all changes, My father said. Don't you worry, Don't you worry child.

I got up from the couch and headed toward my room and I heard Mitch ask "Where are you going Preston? We were just about to watch a horror film!" 

I turned my head a bit to where I could look at him from out of my left eye. I held his gaze for a few seconds before I walked down the hallway towards my bedroom. 

When I got to my bedroom, I collapsed on the floor and I felt tears running down my face. There was a light knock on my door.

The door opened a bit and I heard a voice. "Preston?" 

I turned my head slightly and I looked behind me. I saw Lachlan staring at me with a concerned look on his face. 

"Whats wrong?" He asked as he kneeled down beside me.

Don' you worry, Don't you worry child. See heaven's got a plan for you. Don' you worry, Don't you worry now. YEAH! There was a time, I met a girl (Guy in this case) of a different kind.

"G-Go aw-way L-Lach-ch-hlan." I stuttered. 

"just tell me whats wrong..." He said

I felt anger arise in me.

"No.... Nooooooo..... Noo..." I said dragging the Os'.

"Preston?" He asked. "Please tell me whats wrong..!" He said

He sat down in front of me and hugged me tightly. He pulled me into his lap and kept hugging me, letting me cry.

We ruled the world. Thought I'll never lose her out of sight. We were so young, I think of her now and then. Still hear the song reminding me of my friend.

"Lachlan? Preston!" I heard Mitch call down the hallway.

"What?" Lachlan yelled over me.

He moved me out of his lap and he pulled me into a standing position and kinda dragged me over to my bed, sitting down with me on his lap.

"I'm Heading out! Ok?"

"K" Lachlan yelled.

I continued to sob on Lachlans' shoulder for who knew how long. Then, well, I fell asleep.

When I awoke, I was in a awkward position.

Lachlan  was sleeping with me. This happened once awhile ago but not like this. He had his arm around me and he was also sleeping. 

I blushed. Then I thought for a second. This could be a new start for me. Maybe. I won't be stuck with my grief after all.
