I walked into the house of my grandma and aunt.
"Grammy! Auntie! I'm home!" I shouted using their nicknames.
I've lived with them ever since my mom and dad left me. I never saw them again after they said they would be back for me.
For those of you who actually have loving parents, never take them for advantage because you never know when either of them, whether it be your mom, dad, or even both, will pack up and leave you.
Trust me it's really scary at first and it gets your hopes up too high. Not worth it.
My aunt walked out her black hair flowing behind her as well as her floral skirt.
She walked over giving me a hug.
The cashmere of the sweater she wore brushed against my arms making them itch.
She let go of me and looking at me with her sparkling pale blue eyes.
"Your grandma went to the flower shop. She sent me home to make sure you were ok." She said.
My Aunt Jamie was the nicest woman you'd ever meet.
She was my dad's sister and reminds me on a daily basis that I look like him.
She is obsessed with animals and hugging people.
She and my grandma work at a flower shop my grandma and grandpa started years before he died of lung cancer.
Jamie stepped in to help grandma with a few things since every other family member on this side was incapable of helping other family members.
"Well I have to go back to work! I'll see you later." She said.
Before she went to hug me my phone rang.
I think I about dropped it when I took it out of my pocket and looked at the caller ID. It was a number I have never seen before.
I quickly answered.
"Hello?" I answered a bit nervous.
I don't know why I was nervous but I was. It was strange for me.
"Hey fruit juice!" said the voice on the other end as he laughed.
I roll my eyes with a smile plastered on my face.
"Hey Danny boy." I said chuckling looking at my aunt.
She had the biggest smile plastered on her face.
'Do you have a boyfriend?' She mouthed to me.
I shook my head quickly and waved her away.
"Go to work!" I shouted at her laughing.
"Me?" Danny asked in my ear.
"No not you Danny. I'm talking to my aunt." I laughed.
She smiled and went out the front door as I threw my bag by the door listening to the books clatter inside.
"I see that you have studio time for tomorrow." Danny chuckled breaking the silence.I think my heart jumped into my throat for a minute.
"How the hell do you know that?" I asked sitting in the recliner chair.
I think I might hyperventilate!
"I work for the studio as a DJ and songwriter. So in other words I get to help you with the music for your lyrics. What do ya think of that?" He said.
My blood ran cold for a moment. Was he serious right now?
"Uh, that's gr-great." I squeaked.
"Are you ok?" Danny asked with a worried tone.
"Yeah I'm perfectly fine." I lied.
I wasn't fine. I really wasn't. I was freaking out at this moment. A person I just met not as long as three to four hours ago was going to hear me sing.
What would he do if he hated it?
Would he become like all of the other people who torment me?
I mean seriously the possibilities are endless!
I took a deep breath and let it out to calm my nerves.
"Where are you?" Danny asked all of a sudden.
"Why?" I shot back running a hand through my hair.
"You seem to be stressed and I'd like to help." He said. I could hear the grin in his voice.
"You cheeky bastard." I mumbled.
He must've heard it because he started laughing. "I would like to take you to laser tag and then buy you a meal." He said.
"Oh what a gentleman." I stated with a smile on my lips.
"I'm serious. If it makes you feel any better this won't be a date. I've messed up far too many times." He quickly said.
I looked over to see my skateboard.
"Change in plans. Tell me where you are and make sure you have a skateboard!" I said.He went silent for a moment. "Ok. Well, I'm at the studio meet me at the park instead." He said.
"Alright, that works. See you then." I said as I hung up.
I put my phone away and grinned. He doesn't know how to.
No wonder he went silent. I didn't like laser tag so why not teach an old dog new tricks.
"I'll show fruit juice a few things." I said laughing at his new nickname.
To be honest I don't know why I called him that. Maybe because of his personality and the way he acts.
I stood up grabbing my skateboard and pulling my notebook out of the book bag and into a small messenger bag I carry with me sometimes and slung it over my shoulder. Hey you never know when inspiration will hit.I walked out the door and looked around. The park wasn't very far from my house.
I sat the skateboard down and stepped on it using my other foot to push myself along. I started rushing past and I finally came to the park.
I went down a path with benches and a set of swings and stopped. I sat my skateboard against the bench. I sat the messenger bag down and put it on the bench going across to the set of swings sitting down swinging a bit, not letting my feet leave the ground.
I closed my eyes listening to the squeaking of the swing and sighed. I was finally calm for once.
"What is with you and closing your eyes. I found you like that earlier." I hear Danny say.
My eyes shoot open to look at him looking through the notebook. I shuffle to my feet and go to grab it. He moves it away from me. I let out a huff of frustration as he turned to look at me.
"Fairytales." He says handing me the notebook.
"What?" I ask.
"The song. Fairytales is a good name for it." He said. I blinked a few times just frozen in one place in complete silence.
"Uh I didn't bring a skateboard like you asked." He said nervously.
I went over and grabbed mine.
"That's fine you're just gonna use mine." I smirked.
He suddenly had a look in his eyes that said 'No way man!'
I just nodded and he sighed.
This should be fun.
