A crash of lightning jolted me awake. I took in my surroundings. They had moved me back into my room. I rolled over to......Wait. I rolled over...... My restraints. They've been removed! I sat up slowly, thinking it was my imagination, they wouldn't be stupid enough to remove my restraints. But they had! I stood slowly, trying not to make a sound. The slightest creak could call in the night guard. I moved over to the door and peered out the small window. Down the hall was the night guard....sleeping. In front of my door was, the white rabbit. I yelped. This must be a dream, it has to be. I closed my eyes, shaking away the thought. I know I'm awake. Slowly my door opened.

"Come with me, if you want to escape."

The rabbit said with a hoarse voice that sounded like sandpaper rubbing together.

"How do you expect me to trust you?"

I whispered rather annoyed that he thought I would trust him right away.

"I've gotten you this far haven't I? Forced the nurse to give you half the dosage, and take off your restraints, and give me the key to your room, all so I could help you escape, and you don't trust me?"

He spoke with a sly grin on his face. I nodded. He was right. I followed him slowly out of the room and down the hall. We passed the guard, who was still sleeping. Stupid bastard. Soon we were out the door and running in the rain. As soon as I felt safe an alarm went off. We must have tripped a wire. The rabbit got faster, an inhumane speed. I almost lost him, running through the wet grass of the hospital court. I saw a glance of him disappearing into the giant forest surrounding the hospital. So I followed in after him. Tripping on twigs and branches. Mud on my feet and hands from the times I caught myself on the ground. But I stood and kept running. I'm not getting caught again. I finally caught up to the rabbit.

"Follow me, and try to keep up."

He said before disappearing into a rabbit hole the size of three grown men. It was at the base of a gnarled old tree. It looked so fake, but I knew it wasn't. I got down on my hands and knees and slowly crawled into the hole. It was even smaller than I thought. My hospital gown getting caught on roots sticking through the wet dirt, ripping what clothes a barely had. Soon there was no ground under me. I was free falling through nothingness.
