Being constantly at the hospital for weeks on end is probably the most terrifying thing anyone could ever experience. Especially if the person you are waiting for happens to be your best friend since you were three. We've done everything together since we were five years old and I was the first one to know about the tumor. A few months before campout and championships Taylor was constantly dizzy. She was the best catcher in our division and she was missing pick offs and on the verge of passing out everytime she ripped the mask off. I kept telling her, constantly, to go see a damn doctor. But no she just kept her stubborness foolishly intact and just loaded up on Advil. It's just so hard sitting idly by when your best friend is getting her head chopped apart when you know you could have done something to prevent it.

Also the fact that I am sitting in a room full of people that all secretly (and some not so secretly) hold something against one another. The white waiting room practically overflowed with tension as we all sat there holding our little paper cups of water, or flipping through the latest issue of Men's Health, trying to keep our cool with each other.

"Sooo....," I tried. Everyone just looked at me, waiting for me to continue. Instead, I just sank back down into my seat and grabbed a magazine and ripped it open to the first page. It was about how casual sex ruined a group of friends. Smooth, Lianna. I swear this awkward silence mixed with overwhelming sexual tension is going to kill me.

Just then, Minnie shot bolt up right, moaned a sickening moan, and made a mad dash for the nearest bathroom.

"What the hell?!" Jase asked in utter confusion. This had to be like the third time today and the tenth time this week that that has happened. I really can't bring myself to believe that anything is wrong with her because if there was, I would somehow end up blaming myself.

"I'm okay," we heard as she sauntered back over to her dwelling next to Sasha. It wasn't until then that I really got a good look at her. She had gotten overly skinny and looked like she hadn't eaten anything in weeks. Large blue circles held her eyes and her skin was as white as a ghost. Even I knew something was up with her and I try to keep myself as far away from her as possible.

"Minnie, are you sure you are okay? I mean maybe you should see a doctor," Jase said. God, Jase, when a girl says she's okay, the last thing she needs is her ex-boyfriend prying into her business. I glanced over to Todd who had gone almost as pale as Minnie and was nervously biting his thumb nail. He noticed me staring and just waved me off after mouthing a question to him. What is with these three!?

"JASON! I said I'm fine!" she protested. "Just but out." And with that, Queen Minnie up and left pushing past an unsuspecting nurse who tripped over a decorative plant. The nurse recomposed herself and made her way over to us. She just cleared her throat.

"Are you the group waiting for Taylor?" she asked, directing her question at Kyle with a sparkle in her eye. Wow this lady knew how to be subtle. He seemed to be in a trance so I answered for him.

"Yes, we are," I said. She looked disappointed. "Do you have any news that is worthwhile or have you just come to flaunt yourself?"

She tensed and flushed. Then brushed me off and turned back to Kyle. "Taylor is out of surgery and is resting. We have to keep her for tests for the next few weeks. May I speak to her parents?"

"Oh, they are in another waiting room," I answered once again, seeing as Kyle is at a loss for words right now. "They've never really gotten on with this lot and we wanted to give them the privacy they need."

"Yes, well, she is accepting visitors now," she huffed and tried to sexily strut past Kyle with no avail. He had obviously heard the last part and was sprinting to Tay's room. We all resumed our awkward positions until Vinniah cleared her throat.
