"Annabeth. Annabeth I really need to ta-" Percy begins to says, me still in his arms. I turn my head so that I can watch what is happening. We're in the dining area and Annabeth is sitting at a table reading a book.
"Percy not right now. I'm kind of busy," Annabeth says to Percy without even looking at him, continuing to read her book.
"Annabeth this is important I really nee-" Percy tries again.
"Percy! Not. Now!" Annabeth suddenly becomes frustrated and cuts him off. I start crying again. Annabeth's tone scared me a little and I don't want them to fight, especially if it's because of me. Percy sits me down on top of the table and closes Annabeth's book. She looked up at him, her face becoming red with anger because he's interrupting what she was doing. I scoot away from her a little bit, not wanting to get in her way.
"What is so important Percy?" Annabeth asks through gritted teeth. At this point I'm trying so hard to hold back my sobs.
"Look at her Annabeth!" Percy yells, making me flinch. I can't control myself anymore and I start sobbing. Annabeth turns her head towards me and her expression softens. I pull my knees up to my chest and wrap my arms around my legs.
"I-I'm s-sorry if I made you m-mad Anna-Annabeth," I manage to choke out amongst my uncontrolled tears. I bury my face in my knees and cry. I hear Annabeth gasp and a pair of gentle arms wrap around my body and pick me up. I know it's Annabeth. I wrap my legs around her waist and cry into her shoulder. Once my crying dies down and eventually stops, I pick my head up.
"Sweetheart I promise that you didn't make me mad, okay? I was just a little frustrated because I have some work I have to do. I'm sorry if I scared you, I didn't mean to," Annabeth says to me and gives me a hug.
I pull away first and look at her. "It's okay. I love you," I say and give her another hug. We stay like that for a minute or two until she breaks away and turns her head to Percy.
"Seaweed Brain, I'm sorry that I snapped at you. Please forgive me?" she asks Percy. I look at him awaiting his answer. He doesn't say anything but he walks over and kisses Annabeth. I cover my eyes with my hands and mutter an 'ew' under my breath. I guess they heard me because they pull away from the kiss laughing.
"Well Wise Girl," Percy starts, "I was going to tell you that she was crying in the first place because she got scared." Annabeth gave Percy a confused look as if to say 'what was she scared of?'. Percy began again, "She can talk to Blackjack. And probably the other Pegasi too. None of them said anything."
I looked up at Annabeth and her eyes were wide. She dismissed the issue for now, saying that her and Percy will talk about it later.
"Percy, I put Lane's clothes and her swim suit in your cabin," Annabeth says, addressing him. Then she turns to me and says, "Lane, could you please go with Percy and put your swim suit on underneath your clothes? It will make it a little bit easier later once we get to the lake." I nodded and Percy starts walking. I start to follow him, but turn back and give Annabeth a little wave with a smile. She smiles back and I skip to catch up with Percy, happily grabbing his hand once I reach him.
We walk back to Percy's cabin and he opens the door for me to enter. I see the clothes Annabeth got me and squeal in delight, seeing that most of them are blue. I grab the swim suit off of the top of the pile and push Percy towards the door. He chuckles and puts his hands up in surrender, closing the door behind him on his way out.
