Eventually, everyone came to their senses and all sat on wood pieces around the blazing fire. It was silent.

Bonnie spoke up, "How are we supposed to sleep?"

"Well we have half an airplane. There's still seats and stuff." Mason suggests.

"I wonder if the bathroom still works." Xander says something non-rude, for once.

"I guess we could try and sleep in the airplane, it is tilted a bit forward so it might take a while to get used to it." Brad suggest.

"What all did you find when you searched the pilots area of the plane earlier?" Erika asks.

"We found a box of matches, a huge backpack full of emergency supplies, and this." He pulled out a decent sized bag of food.

"There was a mini cabinet full of food for the pilots and I took everything out of it. It won't last long." He frowns. "But it'll last for a while."

"Good. I'm starving." Xander announces

"Me too." Everyone agrees.

Brad tosses everyone an apple and some chips. Everyone munches on their snacks as Brad adds more logs to the fire.

"You're not going to eat anything?" Cecilia whimpers.

"No. I'm fine." Brad answers.

"You have to eat!"

"I will tomorrow morning, I promise. I don't eat at night anyways."

"Okay."

The students let the fire burn through the night as they snuggle up in the mutilated plane, trying to get some sleep.

Brad wakes up bright and early to start burning another fire. But, in doing so, he woke up Cecilia, who followed him out.

"Are you going to eat?" She spoke up.

He jumps, startled by her voice.

"I just did actually." He lies.

"Are you sure?"

He hesitates. "Yes," and lies straight through his teeth.

"Okay. I'm expecting you to eat tonight too, okay?"

"Yes mom." He jokes, and she helps him with the fire.

//

"Is there any soap in that bag of yours? I feel disgusting." Erika shudders.

"I don't know. Let me check." Brad unzips the backpack.

The students have been out here for almost a week, though they don't have a good way to keep up with the time. No one had working phones anymore. They didn't know what day of the week it was anymore, but Brad has been tallying the number of days and nights they've been stranded on a piece of bark. It's been 5 days, 4 nights. So far.
