So here's a thing I drew, it's not fully accurate, but it's good enough. As you can see, the curlier the hair, the closer you draw the lines and the straighter the hair, the farther and smoother the lines are. Do NOT draw the hair TOO straight. Even people with straight hair have some curve here in there in the strands. A common mistake I see from inexperienced artists is the hair is too straight and looks as if it's sticking to the head. Then there's those who make the hair look like this:
What the fuck. I get it, you're trying to go for this style:
Emo hair, for its a spiky style. Well no, that is not how you fucking draw it.
