Chapter 21

"I can't believe none of you will tell me and I'm not even allowed to leave here. Please if he's gonna be here today I wanna know now!"

It had been a week of me basically trapped here. Saitou was on me so I couldn't leave. He was coming and we were waiting in the front for the mystery men.

"Ever been told, patience is a virtue?" Hijikata asks.

"That's for lady's, I disregard that." Kondou laughs.

"He's right there. You will find out." Sannan says with a smirk. I sigh.

"Fine, I'll be with the others." I say going to where the others waited last time when Itou came. The face I see is not what I expected. I can't help my smile as I slip away.

I sneak around unnoticed until he gets passed the gates. Than I spring up and out onto their leaders back covering his eyes.

"Sakura!" The Shinsengumi yell.

But suddenly they all freeze when the leader secures my legs around him and begins to voice me and run around.

"Kagome kagome, the bird in the cage, when, when will you come out? In the evening of the dawn, the crane and turtle slipped. Who stands right behind you now?" We sing together in unison, laughing.

"Hmm? I think... Sakura is behind me." I jump down.

"Correct!" I laugh. He turns around and we give each other a tight and long hug. "What are you doing here!?" I yell.

"For work! What about you!?"

"For work!" I laugh. Everyone cautiously approaches us.

"What's going on?" Kondou and one of the leaders men ask.

"This use to be my old boyfriend, Hiroshi Yuuto." I say cheerfully.

"What!?" Everyone yells.

"Sakura, this is the man we invited to join us. Are you... Did you perhaps over exaggerate the outcome of this relationship?" Sannan asks. I chuckle nervously.

"I didn't want you to feel bad Kondou-San." I give him a small smile. The rest of the captains come skeptically. I reintroduce him and all the captains become hostile. I laugh.

"If you reach Sakura's standard than that's good enough for me."

"Yep I had to lower my standards for you." I wink at him.

"That's what you keep telling yourself." He quips, winking back.

"Just face it Hiro, you just couldn't handle me." He suddenly pulls me close to him.

"How about we give it a try? How about we try it right now?" I grin at everyone's shocked faces and could tell it was misinterpreted.

"No." I say simply flicking him in the forehead.

"Ow!" He yells putting a hand over his forehead, letting me go. I step away laughing.

"Let's get to business before having some fun right, Hiro? Maybe after, though."

"Right after?" He grins.

"Maybe, meetings tend to put me off."

"Well than I can just put you back on." I roll my eyes shaking my head.

"Hey, Sakura, sit with me!" Heisuke pulls me away from Hiro and between him and Sano.
