"You ready?" Zayn asked me as we pulled into my parent's driveway.
"We aren't doing this now are we?" I responded with a shocked tone. "Zayn, we literally just got here. Let them be happy to see us first."
"No, Rose. Not now. I mean, are you ready to see your family? I know it's been a while." I felt a little more relieved when Zayn said we weren't breaking the news right away. That nervous feeling was still sitting in the pit of my stomach though. By the end of the weekend, everyone that is close to me will know this secret I've been keeping.
"Yes. I'm ready. I could ask you the same thing though. You don't come home as much as I do." I unbuckled my seat belt and reached into the backseat to get my backpack full of clothes
"Yeah, well, that's because I'm always busy." Zayn got out of the car. He walked to the trunk to gather the presents we got for my parents anniversary.
"And I'm not?" I looked at him through the car. "It's only going to bet busier once, you know, when everything happens."
"Rose, that's still like seven months away. We have time to figure everything out." He was talking with hushed tones to his voice. We were the only ones outside, but for some reason it was like second nature to keep this as secret as possible. Especially in public where paparazzi and fans could hear anything at any moment.
I let out a big sigh as I got out of the car myself and walked to the trunk, leaning against the bumper. "I know. I'm still scared though. Everything is just happening so fast. And you know, I don't even know how I'm going to start this conversation with my parents when we have it. I thought telling Bryden was bad, but I'm realizing this is much worse."
Zayn mocked my actions and sat down next to me. "Do they even know about the whole Bryden situation? Did you tell them you're not together anymore?"
"Fuck!" I covered my face with my hands. "Thanks for reminding me I have to do that too. That's just added pressure. They are going to ask me about him. What the hell am I supposed to say?"
"Tell them you broke up."
"Zayn." I glared at him.
"Rose."
"It isn't that easy. They will ask me why we broke up, and then what do I say? I cheated on him with my best friend and now I'm pregnant." I whispered the last part.
"I wouldn't tell them that much. Lie. Say he cheated on you or something." Zayn suggested.
I removed myself from the bumper, slinging my backpack over one shoulder. "I'm not doing that Zayn!" I marched off towards the house. Zayn quickly collected the gifts and followed me, stopping me before I could open the front door of my parent's house.
"Then just, act like you're together. You can tell them everything on Sunday when we break the news." Zayn wrapped an arm comfortingly around my shoulders.
"Okay." I whispered and gave him a weak smile.
Zayn reached for the door handle and let us into my childhood home. The aroma of food flooded my senses, instantly making me crave whatever was cooking. Zayn set down our gifts to my parents in the front room with the rest of the presents. The house was quiet except for a few words being exchanged in the kitchen. I could see the rest of the party outside, drinking and laughing.
We entered the kitchen to see Aleeah talking to one of my cousins while she prepared some appetizer trays to bring outside.
"Hey!" I said cheerily as I walked over to my sister, engulfing her in a big hug.
"Rose!" Aleeah tightly wrapped her arms around me. "I missed you so much." She let go of me and started to cut some tomatoes. 'Hi Zayn."
"Hi." Zayn smiled at her. "How are you?"
