"Promise we will stay in touch?" I ask my best friend, Danny.
"Forever." She hugs me.
I release the hug and sniffle, trying hard not to cry.
"For you." She says, handing me a pink bag.
"Don't open it until you arrive in London." She adds.
"Okay." I respond.
My moms car honks. "That's my que." I look to the ground.
She sighs. "Have fun living in London, Gwynn. I'll miss you."
I hug her and walk off.
I open my moms car door and wave bye to Danny as I get in.
"Ready for a new adventure?" My mom smiles.
"Yeah." I say in an unenthusiastic voice.
"You'll love it. I loved growing up in London." She says.
"Okay." I look down at my phone.
"Your name is British you know, Gwyndolyn." She brings up.
"Gwynn." I correct her.
"Okay, Miss Sassy Pants." She looks at me.
I roll my eyes and look back down at my phone.

*Time skip 13 hours*

Rain drops brush down on the airplane window, surrounded by the dark gray sky.
I look over and see my little brother sleeping. His name is Harvey and he is 12 years old.
I rub his hair out of his face and his eyes slowly open.
"Are we there yet?" He asks.
"Not yet, bud." I laugh.
He groans and closes his eyes again.
"Are you excited to move?" I ask him.
"I liked California." He says.
"Me too. But London is good too." I say.
He doesn't answer.
The pilot announces that we are landing and my brother looks up at me and says, "Yes!" I smile at him.
After we get off the plane and get our bags, we go into a taxi and it drives us to our new house.
We get dropped off to a two story tan brick house. The roof is made out of straw. There are 3 dark brown windows with a big beige door.
I grab my brothers hand and we run up to the doors and wait for my parents to bring the keys.
My dad walks up the steps with our bags and hands me the keys. I unlock the door and my brother and I both run upstairs ready to claim our rooms.
"This one's mine!" My brother yells out.
I go over and see he has chosen a red colored room.
"I'm fine with that." I say.
I walk over to the next room and say to myself, "I guess this one is mine." I sit down on the white wooden floor and then remember the present Danny gave me! I reach over to my luggage and grab the pink bag. I tear out the wrapping paper and then pull out the gift, a frame. Inside the frame is a picture of us in first grade. I smile and sit it in the corner of my room.
I go into my bathroom and look into the mirror. My hair is a mess and my sweat pants and baggy t-shirt need to go.
I go to my bag and pull out a brush, straightener, my makeup bag and a new outfit.
I brush my light brown hair and then straighten it.
I do winged eyeliner, mascara and a champagne colored eyeshadow that goes good with my blue eyes. I add a matte maroon colored lipstick and then change into my outfit; black and white striped crop top, burgundy sweater, a beanie, black jeans and my black combat boots. {THUMBNAIL}
I walk to my brother.
"Want to go explore outside?" I ask.
"Sure!" He smiles.
We step down the stairs and go out the door.
I turn around and shut the door and when I go to turn the other way to start walking I bump into someone.
"Sorry." I automatically say.
"Oops, my bad." He says in his deep British accent.
I look up to see a dirty blonde haired boy looking at me.
We look at each other for a couple seconds and then I say, "I'm sorry but, who are you exactly?"
"Oh, I'm here to thatch your roof." He responds.
"Oh." I say awkwardly.
"I'm guessing you just moved here?" He asks.
"Yup." I answer.
"I'm Joe." He puts his hand out.
"Gwynn." I say shaking his hand.
"Nice to meet you." He grins.
"You too." I smile.
"Can we go?" My brother yells, reminding me he's still there.
"Sorry." I say to Joe.
"Talk later?" He suggests.
"For sure." I answer.
I wave goodbye as my brother drags me out of the walkway.
