The day had dragged to my dismay, causing my mind to think of one thing and one thing only. Harry. His name sent my mind into a frenzy, forming knots in my stomach as I imagined his face. His dark curls perfectly framing his face, cheek bones that looked like they had been sculpted by the gods. His plump lips forming a beautiful smirk, of which I would grow very fond of. But there was something missing from his angelic face. His eyes. I could not conjure his most important feature, the ones that would tell me his emotion without him speaking a single word; I longed to see his eyes, to see them change as his thoughts did. To stare at his face and see every flaw and line that made up his beauty.
The bell rang to signify that the gruelling day was over; I was relieved but also strangely saddened at the fact that I had still not seen his face. Surely it can’t be that hard to find beauty in a place full of gray? I picked up my work and pens, carelessly throwing them into my bag not wanting to waste any time in exiting the school. I dashed for the classroom door, nearly knocking several people to the floor with my hasty actions.
After running through the door, I was pulled into a hug by the not so patient Meg. I reciprocated her gesture, thankful that I didn’t have to go home alone. “Hey Fleur, want a lift?” she paused, taking in my small nod. “Where did you go yesterday? I saw you go towards the kitchen, and then you just vanished. I was so worried” she nudged me in the rib, awaiting my answer. The answer that I would have to make up. I couldn’t tell her that a drunk moron hit on me, practically begging me to jump into his pants. I couldn’t tell her that I was followed into the kitchen by her extremely attractive friend. I couldn’t tell her that he went to our college, that he knows my name, has my number and has already kissed me twice! So I did the decent thing, lied to her but only so no more questions were asked. “I felt sick, so I called my mum and went home. I’m fine; you don’t need to worry about me.” I stuttered, hoping that she would believe my little white lie. She shook her head in amusement, unsure of whether or not she should trust her friend.
We walked to the main door to leave college, passing several boys that muttered stupidly crude remarks under their breath. I was glad to be out of the confines of the old building and in the fresh air, closer to the sun. Most of my fondest memories with my mother were when we spent time in the sun. She used to plait my hair and tell me stories about forbidden love. She doesn’t really have much time for me now; she’s a lawyer for high status people, meaning she has to travel a lot to see her clients. Leaving me at home, alone. That moment I heard a faint buzzing noise coming from near Megan, it was her phone playing what ever her favourite song of the week was. Before I had time to guess the artist, Megan pulled out her phone and quickly answered it. “Hello, Mum.” She began to speak, her eyes glazed with irritation at something her mother had said. “Okay, I’ll leave now. Bye” and with that she had put the phone down, a look of confusion plastered on my face. “Sorry, Fleur. I have to pick up Toby.” She slowly spoke, pronouncing every word clearly. “That’s fine.” I quickly replied, hoping she would offer to take me home any way. “How will you get home?” she questioned, her eyebrows furrowing with guilt.
Just as I was about to answer, a black range rover pulled up. The vehicle stopped next to me and Megan, manoeuvring around the bystanders, ensuring to take the easiest route to me and my baffled friend. The cars windows were suddenly rolled down, exposing the driver. I stared, gauping at the man before me. His beauty was breath taking, his pink lips forming a smug looking smirk, fully aware that we were bewildered by his looks. His eyes a dark green colour, they were astonishingly bright. His curls perfectly framing his chiselled face.
