As she saw them for the last time, not only was she morose, but she felt a bit guilty. Guilty for leaving them without saying goodbye and for leaving them there. Everything was a blur. It was too fast for her, she fainted.
"Look everybody! She's waking up!" Then a whole mob of people crowded around her, a something very bright shining in her face, what is this place? She thought to herself. And who are these people? Why are they dressed so strangely? Oh my, did that machine work?!
"How many fingers am I holding up?" Said a tall man in a white cloak
"Where am I?"
"You're in a hospital sweetie." Said a young lady
"A what?!"
"A hos-pi-tal. Don't you know what that is?" She the realized that she was in the future and if she didn't want to get into any trouble, she should just play their game.
"Oh yes, how silly of me! Of course I know what a hos-pi-till is!
"HospiTAL honey,"
"Pardon me miss, I miss pronounced!"
"Now before we let you go, tell us your name."
"Pines, Penelope Pines"
"And where did you come from young lady?"
"Not to cause any trouble miss, but didn't you say I could leave once I told you my name?"
"Oh of course sweetheart! You are as free as a bird."
What a strange future this is! Being compared to a bird? A feathered beast?
