Eric POV
Dressed in full riot gear, Jeremy and Eric jumped into the back of the truck with the rest of the team taking them to Candor. The briefing this afternoon had been just that, brief. They had very little information except what the leaders of Candor had to tell them. There were members of the factionless that were getting more violent and they seem to be in possession of firearms somehow. Not only was that concerning enough, but with Dauntless missing firearms (which no one else knew about) the leaders of Dauntless needed to apprehend the factionless to make sure that Dauntless headquarters had not been compromised. The plan was simple. They knew where the problem factionless were quartered, they would go in, surround them, and with tranquilizers, take them down. They would try to avoid any casualties. They needed to know where those guns came from. The truck came to a stop in front of a warehouse 2 blocks from the center they knew the factionless where stationed. Going over the orders one more time Eric and Jeremy went in separate directions. Guns drawn, Eric and his partner, Kleen, moved silently through the streets. Reaching the end of the warehouse, they stopped, guns ready, Eric nodding to Kleen, who tapped his radio twice, signaling to the others that he and Eric were in position. Eric peaked his head around the building and saw around 30 factionless milling about. The radio crackled twice more, gave a pause and repeated the action twice more signaling everyone was in place.
Giving a sharp while, Eric drew his gun and rushed around the corner with Kleen heavy on his heels. Jeremy along with the rest of the team came charging out of the other sides of the buildings. Bullets were flying. Eric and the rest of Dauntless managed to take down more than half of the factionless before they even knew what was happening. However some of them must have had some Dauntless training, as they were quick to move and act and they were not using tranq darts.
As Eric and Kleen ducked behind an abandoned car, the side mirror went flying off as a bullet smashed into it, not 3 inches from Eric's head. "SHIT!" Eric yelled as he ducked. Kleen stuck his head up and laughed as they tried to shoot at his spiked hair but missed and hit the building behind him. Instead they gave him a clear shot and he picked two of the four shooters off. Eric swung around and brought his gun up to take out the remaining two. His first dart found its mark but the last man threw himself behind a dumpster before Eric could get a round off.
Kleen and Eric jumped out from behind the car and closed in on the dumpster quickly. Eric's eyes narrowed. This was too easy. He glanced around. The guy had nowhere to go. Nowhere but down. Eric dropped his gun just as the man pushed himself out from underneath the dumpster. They both shot off a round at the same time, both falling to the ground, both allowing the blackness to overtake them.
