I rubbed my eyes slowly, the sound of my alarm clock blaring loudly next to me. I groaned loudly, smacking the top of it to turn the damn thing off. My head dropped back down to my pillow as I closed my eyes for a few more minutes, trying to get as much sleep as I possibly can. I was drifting slowly back into my deep sleep when I heard the alarm scream again, my eyes instantly blinking open. I’m late.
I stretched my arm out to my nightstand, making sure to properly turn off the alarm this time, and unwillingly pulled myself out of bed. My housemates all had already left. I picked up my phone to check the time. I only had about 15 minutes to get to class.
I looked outside the window of my room. It was a crisp Tuesday morning, the skies dotted with wispy, white clouds spread out across the light blue sky. My body still half asleep, I shuffled my feet to my closet. I pulled out a white t-shirt and a pair of used jeans before slipping them on. I swiped my phone from it’s place on my nightstand and put it in my pocket, coming back up to quickly run a brush through my dirty blonde hair.
I rushed downstairs, pulling out the box of Cap'n Crunch tucked snugly into one of the shelves of our kitchen pantry. I poured myself a bowl before scarfing the cereal down, pacing quickly to the sink to rinse it out throughly. I ran upstairs again, going two steps at a time. I grabbed my toothbrush from it’s place and stuffed it into my mouth, slipping on my black Vans as I quickly brushed my teeth. I ran back to the bathroom, spitting out the foamy substance and rinsing my mouth out.
I fished out my phone from my back pocket, checking the time once more before grabbing my books and keys. Swinging the front door open, I closed it behind me as I jogged to my car. Sliding into the front seat, I turned the keys in the ignition as the engine came alive. My fingers brushed over the volume knob, Mcfly blasting from the speakers.
I drummed the tips of my fingers lightly on the steering wheel, pressing my foot hard against the gas pedal. I drove for a few minutes before coming to a stoplight, reaching over to my right to retrieve my phone resting on the passenger seat next to me. My thumbs glided quickly across the glass screen before pressing send.

comin late, don’t bother waiting for me
I threw my phone back onto the seat before stepping on the gas again, driving faster and faster in a race against time. Our fraternity house was about a mile from campus. Class started in 2 minutes and I can’t afford to get another tardy. I pulled into the school parking lot and into a vacant lot before bursting out the car door, books and keys in tow.
I half-walked, half-jogged to my class which luckily wasn’t all that far from where I parked. I strode into the classroom, 15 seconds before the bell rang. I smiled to myself as I slid into my seat, nodding to Harry next to me.
