One Night

Chapter 2

  I walked out of the small smoothie shop next to the campus bookstore, the cold drink held lazily between my thumb and two fingers as it hovered a few feet off the ground. I turned to wait momentarily for Harry as I adjusted the black Ray Bans perched on the bridge of my nose. I looked to the floor as I adjusted my snapback, lifting it up to run my fingers through my hair before setting the hat back down on my head. 

“We need to embark on a little trip to the grocery store soon.” Harry said, taking a sip of his drink as we started to walk.

I shot him a confused look, my Irish accent tinting every word I spoke. “Why? We just went to the store.” 

Harry turned to look at me, his eyebrows furrowed as his jaw dropped slightly, the green plastic straw hanging at the corner of his mouth.

He shook his head disapprovingly, looking straight forward now as we continued to walk. “For the party on Friday ya dumbass!” 

My lips formed an O as I suddenly remembered our plans. We were holding a huge party at our fraternity house on Friday night, and I knew for sure that it’ll be a wild one.

“You’ve been drinking too much again Niall.” Harry stated, lightening the mood. I laughed out loud in return as we continued our journey across campus to the school parking lot.

I gazed straight ahead to see a group of four sorority girls ahead of us, a toothy smile instantly forming on my mouth as my mind registered their familiar faces... except one girl. There’s a new girl in Delta Kappa?

I felt Harry elbow me in the arm, his thoughts matching mine. He nodded towards the girl, his eyebrows knit together. “Who’s she?” 

“You really expect me to know?” I whispered back quickly. My mouth formed a smile quickly again as we met the group face to face, my eyes filled with lust as they flickered to the mystery brunette.
