Derek sighed and sank deeper into his bed. He gripped the pillow in his lap tighter as Stiles frowned and paced the room once more. He read over the letter again and then smashed it back into the bed, causing Derek to jump. Stiles saw this and his expression instantly turned to one of regret.

"I'm sorry, sweety. Come here." Stiles sat on the bed and opened his arms up to Derek. Derek rushed into those arms and curled himself up in Stiles' lap. Stiles massaged his back while Derek snuggled himself in further.

"I'm going to the authorities tonight. I'll tell them the whole story and we'll get this bitch. If it's the last thing I do, Derek, I'll protect you. I need you to come to the station with me though, baby. I know they already have your report on file but they may have further questions. After that I think it would be best if you stayed here. Is that going to be alright with you?"

Derek frowned and thought for a moment. "Will you come and stay here with me?"

Stiles smiled softly and planted a gentle kiss in Derek's hair. "That's up to you and Cora. I would love to stay if she thinks that would be alright." Stiles was rubbing his hands up Derek's arms, massaging the twitching flesh.

"I don't know how I'm going to tell her..." Derek trailed off.

"Let me handle that," Stiles whispered in his ear.

Between the massaging touches and warm embrace, Derek noticed how truly tired he was. The room became blurry and Stiles' lap felt even more cozy as he drifted to sleep.

"Baby? You've got to wake up now Der, it's time to go down to the station."

Derek squeezed his eyes shut tighter, maybe this was all just a bad dream, he was bound to wake up some time. He felt soft but strong hands on his shoulders, patting his back, rubbing the tense spots.

"I know you're scared, but I'm going to be with you the whole time. I even talked to Cora and she said that if it would make you feel better, I can stay here for a few days. She also said I had to sleep on the couch," Stiles sounded like he had a frown on his face at the last part.

Derek giggled a bit, and loosened up. Leave it to Cora to act like mom.

Derek rolled over, giving Stiles a serious look. Stiles sighed and ran his long fingers through Derek's now clean hair.

"I don't know if you know this but my dad is the sheriff of Beacon Hills. I've already called him and he's ready for us to come in. It's really going to be alright, baby. Let us help you. Let me help you."

Derek sighed and dropped his head back to the bed one more time before sitting up. He found Stiles' hand with his own and laced their fingers together. He could do this.

The Sheriff squinted as he went over Derek's file another time. The young man had been distraught as he told his story, not the best way to introduced him to his son's new boyfriend.

Something about the file didn't exactly add up. It made sense, the woman who set the Hale house on fire was the same one to steal Derek, but why when he looked her up in the system, did she have a clean ticket? Two speeding tickets, years apart, where hard to find concerning.

How could he have let this bitch slip through his fingers the first time and not notice when she popped back up on the system. Well, quite frankly, she didn't just pop back up the on the system. He hadn't even been able to find her until now, searching her by her appearance.

She now went by the Patricia Evans, a middle aged woman with a nursing career. It was doubtful that was even true.

The other thing that didn't add up was the fact that she introduced herself as Katherine to Stiles. Did she want him to find out it was her?

The Sheriff sighed and dropped the papers back to his desk. Regardless, she would be sitting in one of his investigation rooms right about now.

"Mrs. Evans, we have evidence to believe that you were connected to the Hale fire as well as Derek Hale's kidnapping and torture," the Sheriff heard one of his deputies, Parish, speak behind the two sided glass.

Katherine, 'Patricia,' smiled innocently. "The Hale what, sir?"

"The Hale fire, ma'am," Parish retorted immediately.

"Never heard of it." She picked something from between her nails.

"How about Derek Hale, have you heard of him?" Parish threw a file on the metal table and out rushed pictures of an adolescent Derek and more recent ones including the crime scene pictures of Derek's abused body.

Kate once again looked down with little interest and shook her head. The Sheriff was having a hard time deciphering her poker face.

"Mrs. Evans," Parish started once more. "We know you had some involvement in this case and I can guarantee the court will be much easier on you if you admit to it here rather than being found guilty later. What's it going to be?"

Just that moment, the Sheriff jumped as the door was slammed open. A freshly groomed man walked in; a pressed suit adorning his body and a black brief case in his had. "Don't say another word," he warned Kate. "Officer, my client and I will be going now, you have no jurisdiction to be talking to her without a warrant and I certainly don't see one. If you could show us to the door, it would be much appreciated," he sneered.

The Sheriff slammed his hand against the table in front of him, causing his coffee to splash over the edge. He didn't need anymore hoops to jump through on a case that didn't make sense from the start. And now, the evil bitch was loose.

A/N: Bonus, Kate licked Derek's abs and liked it ;)
