Aphmau's POV
I get home and I just barely supress the urge to slam the door.Who does that girl think she is?! She can't tell me what to do! I'm an independent woman and I can like who I want to! Besides, where did that assumption even come from?
I let out an annoyed "ugh" sound as I flop down, face first, onto my couch.
Can I just sleep here?
My mind flashes with the image of turquoise blue eyes and fiery red hair. I shake my head in an attempt to forget about it, but the images just spill back in.
I get taken back to the moment where that girl was pinning me to the wall.
"So you've been stalking me!?"
"Y-No! I just- know alright! Just stay away from him!" She remarks.
A silvery flash flits in the edge of my vision. I try to turn to it, but my memory doesn't recognize it. Suddenly, the girl, turns. What was her name, Ivy? She flips her hair and the object shifts in her pocket.
"Is that a knife?!" I try to speak in shock, but my voice is muted as if I wasn't actually there.
I feel my eyes open and I'm staring at a dark beige color. I turn to realize it was my couch, and I had actually fallen asleep.
I rub my eyes with my knuckles and sit up. My phone was ringing. I mindlessly answer it and pull it to my ear.
"Hello?" I ask behind a yawn.
"What did you do, fall asleep? Anyways, hey Aph!" I hear Cadenza's cheery voice pipe up.
"Hey Cadenza, what's up?" I ask, shaking the sleep from my eyes. I was asleep for less than an hour and it feels as if I've been asleep all day.
"I just wanted to ask you if you knew why Dante wont pick up his phone? I was gonna force him to apologise to Kawaii~Chan and Nicole, but he wont pick up." Cadenza says.
I let out an amused "tch" sound, "Long story short, drunk Laurance broke Dante's phone."
"Again!? What's up with Laurance and breaking things when he's drunk!?" Candenza squawks.
"Dunno. Hey can I ask you something?" I ask, immediatly knowing Cadenza's reaction.
"If you want to ask, it's easier to just say it rather than to ask if you can ask." Cadenza scoffs. "But sure, go ahead."
"Have you ever had... someone... threaten you?" I ask hesitantly, afraid of an incoming shriek.
"What do you mean, 'threaten you?' No... Why? Where'd this come from?" She asks calmer than I expected, she sounds more worried than overly terrified.
"I-It's nothing. I was just... curious?" I say, my words coming into more of a question.
"Aph, please, tell me. I know something is up." Cadenza pleads.
"I... um... well I kind of was confronted by this reddish-pink-haired girl with turquoise eyes. She had a really snarky attitude and she seemed to be threatening me to stay away from Garroth for some reason." I say hesitantly.
"Wait... red-pink hair? Thing for Garroth? C-Could that have been... Ivy?" Cadenza seems to mumble to herself, but I overhear.
"That's her name! You met her before?" I ask, feeling oddly calmer knowing that they met before.
"Yeah, I've met her before. Cocky little thing. Always believing she is right and the other is wrong. I hate her. She has this thing for Garroth, and she hates to see him with another pretty girl. She only picks on people who she thinks is a threat." Cadenza rants.
"Wow, that's reassuring." I say sarcastically.
"Mmmhm. Anyways, Aphmau, did she happen to have anything... dangerous... on her?" She asks slowly, seemingly afraid of the answer.
I swallow, feeling the words catch in my throat. I don't know if that dream was a vision or just a vivid dream. Should I take a chance and pin her for something she didn't do? If I don't, however I could possibly be putting myself in danger. "Why? H-Has she done something like that bef-fore?" I stumble.
"I don't mean to scare you, but yes. On a confrontation with me even." Cadenza says.
I nod forgetting that she can't see me.
"I'm afraid of what she could do to you. She doesn't normally just bring sharp objects along with her on her outings." Cadenza continues.
"Sh-She did. She almost even admitted to stalking me." I say, feeling the hand that is grasping my phone start to become limp with fear.
"OKAY! WHO DOES THIS GIRL THINK SHE IS!? Does she not realize that stalking is a form of harassment!? I see she is looking for intimacy, but come on, this is going a little far!" Cadenza shrieks.
And there is that shriek I heard coming a mile away. "It makes me afraid of how much she has been around. Do you think that-"
I get cut off by Cadenza, "No! Don't even think that! That is just creepy and a downright invasion of personal space."
"I know, but what if she is?" I continue.
"If you really think about it, Ivy is mainly known for her intimidation skills. If she almost admitted and outright stuttered, she was probably just trying to get under your skin. I know for a fact that she did that to me." Cadenza chides.
"Wait a moment, did you actually have a thing for Garroth at one point? You said that she picks on the girls that are pretty and have a chance with him."
"N-No, it was just a fake double-date sorta situation. Tr-Travis wanted to get a chance with Katelyn, a-and I just tagged along." She says with a nervous giggle.
"Yeah suuurre, I-wait a minute, you said Travis? As in Travis Valkrum?! He's here?!" I say excitedly.
"Yeah, you know him?"
"I've known him ever since high school! I attended a college Bright Port University, so I had to leave Phoenix Drop at the time, but I didn't think he would still be here!"
"I can call him up and invite him somewhere for you guys to meet up again if you want that." She offers, I can almost hear her smile.
"That would be awesome! Thanks Cadenza! I'm gonna go now, but thank you for letting me know all that you did!" I say happily.
"Alright, see ya'!"
"Bye!"
I hang up the phone and smile.
After so long, I get to see my not-alone-buddy again.
