Chapter 1

Once upon a time, in a deep dark blue and astounding starry sky stood two youngsters about twelve at most. The inky indigo clouds inaudibly crept passed them as they sat in a cavernous crater on the meteorite floor. One of the children with light purple hair was murmuring quiet words into the younger girl's ear.

'Ya see that Pom, that's the Gemini constellation and all those white sparks around it are geminids" I noticed Nova's eyes shimmered whenever he talked about the constellations. Half of me always thought he would be a world famous astronomer but the other half insisted that he was too shy to consider something like that. Plus, a huge wave of astronomers swam in after what occurred in 2058. I focused my attention back on the starry night. Nova was right when it came to how calming and beautiful the stars were. It was as if angels flew down and placed the scene right before our eyes. The night sky was filled with streams of white, yellow dots, and dashing shooting stars.

The air smelt of blueberry waffles mixed with strawberry crepes that Nova brought in a turquoise lunch box. The box was shaped like a star and zipped from the middle with a layer of dirt on the top. Our Sun State has always been famous for how clear you can view the stars. The mountain top was a place no one would usually travel to. It wasn't very wide and about only 5 people in total could fit in such a tight space. Nova and I had been coming here since we were 7 years of age. To enter the space was difficult and I've gotten lost a few times on the way here. It's a little less than mile away from my house and you just have to pass through the creek. I noticed Nova was staring at me and I flinched.

'Don't stare at me like that you dummy!" I screamed at him while laughing. I then bumped his arm with my elbow playfully. He responded with a quick giggle and then laid down on the cold floor. He then placed his arms behind his head. His eyes closed in result of the calming air. Afraid to break the silence, I laid back too. I placed my head under his armpit and spread my arms out. Unfortunately, the silence did break and after a few seconds too.

'Don't laugh but do you think that maybe...the sun could ever be put back together?'
