=Riley=
I wake up with a smile on my face. Today was the big day! Greyson was gonna perform at the talent show! I jump out of bed and take a shower. I change into black skinny jeans and a white T-short that has a dinosaur on it. I blow dry my hair and straighten. I hate when my hair is curly, it's too girly. I straighten my side bangs and clipped them to the side. I tried to put on my high-top as I jump down the hallway to wake up my parents. But, I tripped and fell on my stomach. I stumble to my feet and barge into my parents room.
"Mom! Dad! Wake up!" I shout, jumping onto the bed. My Dad yells and pulls out a baseball bat from under the mattress. I scream and duck under the bed.
"Riley? What are you doing? You almost gave me a heart attack." He gasps.
"Sorry Dad." I mutter as I get back up to my feet.
"Just go downstairs, we'll meet you there." He yawns. I nod my head and run downstairs and enter the kitchen. I open the freezer and grab the box of waffles. I shove two waffles into the toaster and get out a plate and a glass of orange juice. I stare at the toaster, like a stalker, waiting for my waffles to pop out.
"BOO!" Tyler shout.
"Ahhh! Ty you idiot!" I yell at him, whacking his arm. He laughs and takes on of my waffles as they pop up.
"Hey! That's mine!" I shout at him and tackle him to the ground.
"That's so humiliating! A twelve year old girl tackled a eight-teen year guy." My Dad laughs. Tyler scowls at me and gets back up, still eating my waffle. I stick out my tongue and eat my last waffle.
I finish up and call Greyson.
"H-Hello?" Greyson said.
"Hey Grey, how's it going? Excited?" I smile through the phone.
"N-no! I'm freaking out! I'm...I'm....I'm...." He begins to breathe really fast.
"Greyson? Hello?" I ask, getting concerned.
"Hey Riley, uh Grey's gonna have to call you back. He's hyperventilating." Tanner chuckles.
"Oh, okay. Tell him, I hope he gets better." I say, nervously.
"Will do, bye Riley."
"Bye."
Well, that's not good. Not good at all. What if he starts to hyperventilate during his performance? What if he passes out? What if they boo him off stage? What if a giant turtle walks in and eats him?!?
Oh God, get a hold of yourself Riley! You're better than that! You've known Greyson since forever, he's going to be okay! He's gonna do great! A giant turtle is not going to eat him. Everyone will love him! He's amazing!
I look myself in the mirror and do some breathing excersises. Thanks a lot Grey, you got me nervous. I splash some water in my face and slap myself a couple of times.
Okay, I'm good.
"Ready to go?" Mom asks me.
"Yeah, let's go." I smile
=Greyson=
"Ugh! Stupid, stupid, tickle-loving, mango-face!" I swear at my closet. Okay, so it's not really swearing. I'm not really allowed to, so Riley and I made up some words so we substitute the real ones with the fake one.
"Whoa, little bro. What's going on?" Tanner walks in.
"Nothing's going right! Macy friggin' chewed up my shoes, I don't know what to wear, I can't find my sheet music, my hairs sticking up, and I'm running late!" I hear my voice crack, I was on the verge of crying.
"Greyson calm down. You can use my old vans, Alexa has your sheet music, you're not running late, Mom can fix your hair, and Alexa can help you find something to wear." Tanner tells me. I take a deep breath and give Tan a hug.
Alexa walks in and goes through my clothes. She picks out a white Polo shirt with thin green and blue stripes on it, and cargo shorts. She decides to help me with my hair.
"What is that?" I ask her. She had this big pink bottle in her hand.
"It's gel."
"Why is it pink?"
"Because."
"Because why?"
"Just cause!"
"Okay, chill Alexa." I shrug. She squirts the foam in her hand and rubs it into my hair. She flattens my hair and rinses out the foam.
"Thanks, Alexa." I smile at her, giving her a hug.
She hugs me back and pats my shoulder. "Not prob, little guy." She chuckles. I go back to my rooms and change in my clothes. I slip on Tanner's checkerboard vans and walk downstairs. My sheet music was on the kitchen counter. Wait, this is the original one. Where's the one I wrote? Oh gosh, where is it!
My phone rings, it's Riley.
"H-Hello?" I ask nervously.
"Hey, Grey! How's it going? Excited?" She asks, happily.
"N-No! I'm freaking out! I'm....I'm....I'm...." I couldn't finish, I was breathing really fast and I felt dizzy. I felt the ground disappear under me. Tanner runs up to me and helps me to the couch.
"Hey Riley, uh Grey's gonna have to call you back. He's hyperventilating." He chuckles.
"Will do. Bye, Riley." He says finally.
Mom walks in and sees me. She rushes to my side, hugging me.
"Oh, honey! Are you okay?" She asks, placing her hand on my forehead.
"I'm fine, just a little nervous." I mumble. She gives me one last squeeze and lets go.
"Are you ready to go?" My Dad asks.
"Yeah, let's go." I sigh.

I past by a group of student, and slip backstage where Greyson should be. I found him tapping his fingers on his lap. He was squirming in his seat. I smile and run up to him. He wraps his arms around me and rests his chin on my shoulder.
"Nervous?" I ask him.
He nods his head and hugs me tighter. "You have no idea." He says.
"Don't worry! You're Greyson friggin' Chance! You're gonna be amazing!" I smile.
"Thanks Riley. Is the rest of the gang here?" He asks.
"Yeah, Jesse, Collin, and Colton are already in the bleachers. Your family is sitting with mine, and I'm gonna be right here waiting for you when you finish." I grin.
"You're the bestest buddy in the world." He whispers.
"Let's sit down and wait for you to go on." I say.
"Okay." He nods his head and sits me down where all the other contestants were. First up was Heather, she was playing the trumpet. Then it was George, he was a comedian act. Then Lola and Will doing a duet. Natalie did a dance routine and Rodney sang.
"Well, last but not least, Greyson Chance!" Mrs. Martin, the principal said. Greyson's eyes widen and he stiffen. I grab him by the shoulders and shake him.
"Greyson Michael Chance! Listen to me! You are gonna go out there and rock the stage! Do you hear me?" I say. He just stares at me, then he blinks.
"Greyson, if you don't go out there right now, I'll attack you at night!" I shake him harder. He just blinks again. I groan and pull him off the chair. I crack my knuckles and slap him across the face and he comes back to reality.
"Holy crap! That hurts!" He groans.
"C'mon, they're waiting for you!" I shout at him and push him on stage.
=Greyson=
I look at the crowd, why am I so nervous? They're my classmates, I've known them since pre-school. I walk slowly over to the piano. I flick my hair to the side and place my fingers on the keys.
Here goes nothing....
