The next day was not particularly exciting. Liam and I spent our time just trying to find some other sort of human life. We had passed through little valleys and then through forests, which luckily consisted of creeks that provided a great source of water and plants that provided some food.
***
On the third day we apprached one little house that was up on a hill and surrounded by a meadow. We decided that after finding no trace of human civilization for days, this was our best shot.
"Do you think someone lives here?" I asked with a trace of hope in my voice.
"It looks like it," Liam replied.
We walked through the meadow, up to the house and knocked on the door. No answer.
"Ok, I don't mean to barge in, but I'm starving," I said as I pushed open the door.
I heard Liam give a light chuckle behind me.
"What?" I asked with a smile on my lips.
"Nothing, you're just... really something," Liam said shaking his head.
I looked back at him with a smirk across my face and then turned my head back so that I could look at what was ahead of me.
"So we're basically just going to be really quiet, tiptoe into the kitchen, grab some food and sneak out.." Liam went on. Too late, I thought as I walked into the kitchen. I was hungry as anything; there was no way in hell I was going to make up a whole plan.
"Sierra..." Liam warned.
Soon enough, I was in the kitchen. I turned around and Liam had followed close behind.
The house was a cute little cottage. There was a small kitchen with a living room to the right. I didn't look around for any bedrooms, but out the back window I noticed that there was a garden and a clothesline with some blouses on it.
"Ok I think you've got enough food," Liam said has he pulled my arm. "Let's go," he added as he guided me out the door by my waist. Chills went down my spine has he placed his big, warm hands on my hips. I know that I should have my priorities in order, but flirting with Liam suddenly sounded like a high priority. Gosh was I starting to fall for him.
