"Bye guys thanks so much for coming," I said.

I practically had those words memorized as I watched the last group of the 40-person-party leave. I carefully closed the dark wooden door and turned around. I'm so glad that Chelsea and Caroline stayed because this mess wouldn't clean up itself. We slowly slumped around picking up cups and trash. We walked around like zombies for about half an hour before the living room and kitchen looked decent enough that we could go to bed.

"Guys, seriously just crash here," I offered as I began to yawn.

My two best friends gladly accepted the invitation. As fast as we could we made our way up to my room where we could finally get some peace. I was still experiencing the aftermath of a party with a crowded room, endless conversations, and blasting music. We slowly crept into my room while we were careful not to wake up my parents. Luckily, my sister Tess was away at college. There's no way she would stand any of this late night stuff. We tiptoed around the soothingly quiet room, surrounded by the light periwinkle walls and the whisper of eachothers' voices. I grabbed my sweatpants and a tshirt and threw some to Caroline and Chelsea.

"Thanks," they whispered practically in unison.

I was fortunate enough to have a king sized bed, especially in times like these. We're all relatively tiny, with the tallest girl being Caroline who stands at 5 foot 6. I pulled back my black and white comforter and as we got into bed I heard an echoed "goodnight" from Chelsea and Caroline.

"Happy birthday Sierra," Caroline practically sang in a soft whisper.

"Thanks for everything, we love you," added Chelsea.

"Thanks guys," I attempted to mumble in an auditory way, but I was too tired.

Luckily the window was right near the bed. A light thunderstorm soon began. The day came to a perfect end while I feel asleep to the rhythmically soothing patter of the rain.

I was aware that it was morning because the birds chirped and the sunlight peaked through the window and lit our skin to a glowy-tan shade. And I was also aware that when your two best friends begin jumping all over your bed and throwing pillows at you, then it's time to get up.

"Oh my gosh," I groaned, stuffing my face into my crisp white pillow.

"How do you feel getting past your 18th year?!" Shouted Caroline as Chelsea threw a pillow at me. "Get up though, seriously. We're making waffles," she added.

"Well I feel so much different, it's insane," I said with a sarcastic tone.

"Let's make our yearly bucket list," exclaimed Chels.

Every year on whoever’s birthday it was we decided that we get to make a bucket list for that year. It's all the stuff we want to do before our next birthday.

"Okay fine," I agreed. Although my birthday was two days ago, I decided that now would be a good time. We ran down the steps and into the serene and cloudy colored blue kitchen, my other favorite place to collect my thoughts when there’s not a loud party taking place. I grabbed a pen and tore out a piece of notebook paper.

“Guys help me!” I pleaded. “This list-making stuff gets harder every year,” I added.

“Easy stuff first,” Caroline said. “Bake a cake, go to a carnival, go icekating…blah blah blah,” she kept adding.

“Ok good, good,” I said scribbling.

“Now for the daring stuff,” said Chelsea, smiling. “Something like scubadiving?” she presented.

“Oh my gosh!” I exclaimed. “That reminds me of last year’s list. Remember on my 18th birthday I said my dream was to go skydiving?!”

“You did really want to...” started Chelsea.

“I know I got scared, I know, but I totally forgot about how much I’ve wanted to…”

“Then Sierra, what are you waiting for?” asked Caroline.

“You’re above the age limit so whenever you decide to then you definitely can,” added Chelsea.

“I’m ready,” I said. “I’ll do it whenever,” I added.

I just looked at my two best friends and they shrugged.

“We’ll go too,” they smiled.

I got up and hugged them, “I’m going to find my parents.”

“Um, Sierra?” they both asked. “Are we going today?,” they added.

I just smiled.
