Maximus admired Rebekah as she flipped from page to page as she read the book in her hands. He looked at her features which he thought were painted with a soft brush, her face which was oddly in the shape of a heart made his heartbeat accelerate at the sight of it. Every freckle was like a star on her skin which he wished to join together which would form into a constellation.

It was as if, she was a mystery and he wanted to solve it. Discover all the little pieces and remember every distinctive detail about her. With a glance he could paint her, a stroke creating nothing but utter perfection. He could never get tired of watching her, she was a rare beauty.

Shaking his head, Maximus tried to focus on the drawing which he was working on but which was supposed to be a drawing of a sky scraper turned out to be a drawing of Rebekah. Growing frustrated by his actions, a sigh escaped his lips and he clutched his head in despair. He hoped that his mind would focus on something rather than the blonde haired girl sitting a few feet away form him.

"Hey, you okay?" Rebekah asked him, concern laced in her voice. Her voice echoed throughout the basement, which was present underneath the mansion of the Lloyd's. The basement was their hideout whenever the pressure of the world got too much on them, they'd come down here and forget all their worries. It was their own Paradise, a place where they could escape from reality, pressure, school, parents, everything in general.

Maximus rubbed his face as exhaustion washed over him. He licked his chapped lips and gulped down the water to quench his thirst. Clearing his throat, he answered. "Yeah, I'm fine. I can't seem to focus on anything." Except you  Maximus wanted to say but he refrained from doing so.

Rebekah folded the page of her book as a reminder and kept it on the table beside her. She propped her legs on the table and snuggled into the couch. "Take a break, you deserve it."

Maximus got up from his table and headed towards her. He settled beside Rebekah and looked at the painting before him. A painting which he painted when he was in a dark place surrounded by nothing but his demons. When Maximus was left alone in the dark, no one was with him but then he discovered art. He painted and painted, with every soft stroke he created something which represented his feelings.

Rebekah tilted her head, trying to decipher the painting. The painting consisted of strokes of black paint and smudges of grey were present on it, the entire painting was dark, just like his past  Rebekah thought. Numerous times she tried to understand it but the capacity to do so was out of her limit.

"You really like fairy tales, don't you?" The sound of his voice startled her, shaking her head trying to clear the thoughts of what could happen to Maximus which made him to paint such a painting which was filled with so much pain and pent up anger.

"Yeah, takes me to a world far better than this one."

Maximus gave her a half smile which Rebekah was fond of but he didn't know that. "And let me guess you were the damsel in distress?"

Rebekah chuckled softly, "Why would I be the damsel when I could be a scaly dragon who could set things on fire?"

And that was the only reason why Maximus thought Rebekah was one of a kind.

*****

I enjoy writing this, so freaking much. So, I've decided to complete two of my books and then move on to the next ones because if I don't then the pressure to write will kill me. And I write to express what I'm feeling or take off stress. I write because it helps me.

Moving on from the sentimental part, what did you think?! Did you like or nah?

And these are different memories, just bits and pieces not actual whole chapters which explains from which point they reached to here. Think of it as a slide show except your reading it.

Plus this was hard to write cause I try to add all the feelings, like every single one of them even the fear which the characters feel when they see a cockroach.
