I woke up today. As usual prepaired myself to go to work, ate breakfast with my wife and said goodbye. I was about to open the door when I found Emma, Jane's best friend, opening the door. She was worried about something. My wife, Claire, came to the view. She saw Emma and waited for her to say anything.

"Hello Mr. and Mrs. Harris. Is Jane here?" Emma asked. I looked at her then at Claire, we were both shocked. Jane sent us text telling us that she was going to stay at Emma's. Where did she go?

We were all silent. I felt that Emma didn't know what to say, that she ruined her best friend's plan. I'll just wait till I have my talk with Jane. I raised them, Jenny and Jane, to always say the truth no matter what. But what happened to that bond? Did I fail to raise my own girls? I can't believe that I will talk to her about something like that, she just have to come right now. No more sleeping overs.

I searched for my phone, dailed her number trying to call Jane. The phone was closed, What was exactly going on? I looked again at Emma.

"What is going on? I thought she is with you!" I said.

I started to raise my tone but Claire looked at me like I should calm down. Emma was emotionless, I assume she never saw me like that before, I can't blame her. I've never seen myself like that before.

"I'm sorry. She.." Emma said, then there was a long pause. "She.. She just left early. She forgot her book, that's why I came." she finally said.

I really wanted to believe her but I can't this is not reasonable. How did Jane left that early and didn't have breakfast with us? Or just went to her bedroom? I checked her bedroom earlier, no one was there.

"You better tell us the truth young lady." I started to raise my tone. Beginning to lose my temper again.

I need to find my daughter. I tried to convince myself with every excuse, but, Who am I fooling? She lied to me, her own dad. I need to talk to her. No more friendly father, maybe that's not working these days. Maybe there's something that happened that she didn't want to say. But what was it? And Why did she lie? I'm her father, my duety is to protect her. Emma was hesitating. She looked at Claire. Claire gave her a nod as a sign to start saying what is going on.

Emma took a deep breath and started to talk. "Well I had a text yesterday that Jane was coming over. I was prepaired that she was coming at 6. I kept on waiting and waiting. No one came, I started to get worried. But I said that maybe you, Mr. Harris, didn't approve. So I slept telling myself that I would come here early before we go to school to find out why she didn't come." Emma said. I was shocked.

It has been two days already. I didn't see Jane or Jenny. "Wait. So you're saying that she didn't come yesterday?" Claire said, she stared to worry about Jane too.

Claire is not that type of person that gets worried quickly. But right now, seeing Claire like that, made me worry even more.

Emma shocked her head as a no. "But how? I recieve a text from Jane that she was on her way to your house." I said.

"Me too. She was trying to call me but I didn't pick up because I was away from the phone. I tried to call her back but no one answered." Claire said.

There was a long silence. We all looked at each other. I called my office informing them that I won't come today.

"Should we call the police?" said Claire. I didn't know how to respond, maybe Jane went directly to school this morning, but, Where did she stay last day? Emma nodded, she was worried too.

"Emma! Go to school or you'll be late. We'll find her don't worry." I told Emma.

"No! I'm not going anywhere, I have to find my best friend. I'm worried!" Emma replied.
