Ok, guys. So I started this story...... in 10th grade. I thought it would be more novel like, but I think it's just fine as a short story, TOTALLY teen fiction. I started it because I was mad at someone. And it was during the New Years countdown that I really began to create this plot: thus, the title. So, I really vent my feelings in sometimes. The very first part may seem slightly choppy because I lost a page........ and that was the page that had all of the feelings on it. T.T but it's gonna b ok :)) So READ IT!! >:D

NEW YEARS RESOLUTION
Lights flicker, the countdown is on. I watch as the host in New York began the dreadful countdown. Everyone's last moments of the last year. Everyone planning resolutions which they won't keep.
Three. Two. One.
“Happy New Year!” everyone in my house shouted, blowing those stupid, noisy birthday things that uncurl when you blow them.
Yeah, yeah, hip hip horray, blah blah, all that jazz. Ugh. This is really a waste of my valuable time. I don’t even understand why this day is so damn important.
But, just like every other blab in this world, I have a stinky new year’s resolution.
What is my resolution, you ask?
Well, it’s quite simple, I must say.
For the rest of this year, I’m not going to let anything that anyone says to me become me. I’m not going to care about what anybody has to say to me. I’m going to do what I want to do. My new language is sarcasm. I will show no feeling because whenever I do, everyone always gets a kick out of it. Well, everyone except me. And I’m not going to allow that anymore. I’m going do what I know I have to do.
Everyone always thinks they can take advantage of me. But I won’t let them. There is nothing that I will do that doesn’t please me.
End of discussion.
This is how I really feel.
My name is Renee Akira Blake, and this is my resolution.
NEXT DAY IN THE CLASSROOM
My three best friends and I sat in the back of the classroom on our first day back, as we normally would do.
Our teacher’s name is Ms. Limly AKA the Blue Devil, whom we all hate. We gave her that nickname mainly because she had the bitchiest attitude ever, and she always wears blue with EVERYTHING, despite the fact that it didn’t match. Like, WHY is she always wearing those damn blue rain boots? It’s like those are the only pair of shoes that she owns. It really makes no sense, but whatever.
Everyone was filling in the blanks to the guided note, but I don’t feel the need to do them.
“Hey, Akira?” I whipped my head back in the direction of the voice. It’s Kimberly, who sits directily behind me.
“Yeah?”
“You better do your work. You know the notes are graded today, right?”
“Ermm, maybe?” I scratched the side of my face.
“Man, she’s always doing stupid shift,” Mari commented.
“Tell me about it!” I said a little too loud.
“Renee,” Ms. Limly yells. I look up at her.
“Yeah?”
“Please step into the hallway.”
“Why?” I questioned. I needed to know the purpose of me getting the fuck up o go all the way to the hallway.
“Because you are being a distraction.”
“How am I being a—”
“Son,” Ashanti said in her laid back voice, “just go, iight.”
“Man!” I complained as I got up. I slowly walked to the door and out of the room. I went to my locker, which was at the other end of the hallway. I took out a strawberry Arizona and a bag of Doritos. I went back to her door and began to eat my snack. I after I was done with my chps, and halfway done with my Arizona, the Blue Devil stepped out of hell.
“Renee,” she said as if my name was a bad taste in her mouth.
“I told you before, I go by Akira. I don’t know what the fuck you don’t understand about that!” Ms. Limly cleared her throat, then stressed my name.
“Renee, I want you to watch your damn mouth.” My whole jaw dropped open. I’ve never understood how the fuck you going to tell me to watch my mouth, and you cussing me out, while you are saying it? Then I remembered my New Years Resolution, and sarcasm possessed me. Instead of arguing her down, I say,
“Iight, Ms. L, why don’t we make a deal? The day you stop talking to me like I’m your damn child and you respect me, will be the day I show you ANY kind of respect.” Then, before she could respond, I opened the door and went back into the classroom, leaving her ass in the dust. I guess she was pretty pissed because when she got back in the classroom, she aint say shit except for when she assigned us some book work. She told us to be quiet.
About ten minutes into our work, Kimberly tapped me and whispered,
“So, what exactly happened?”
“I told her the day she respected me will be the day I will respect her.”
“Damn,” Kim said, “that’s deep.”
“Man, fuck her. She needs a boyfriend,” Ashanti stated.
“You can say that again. She needs some DICK,” Mari’Ana said. Then our back corner erupted in laughter.
“Dayumm,” Mari yelled, covering her mouth. We all laughed harder and I was sure that I would live up to my resolution and have a great year.
