Slowly walking out of apartment, I locked the door. Living alone wasn't as cool as it sounds, you know. You have to worry about all of the windows, about electrical th...
Holly sweet little seven pound baby Jesus!
That figure. He was standing by the cab, looking at me. Trough his glasses. Man. He looked amazing. Tall as hell, white shirt, sportish gray jacket, black trousers and gray sports shoes. He looked so classy and elegant, but casual and comfy at the same time. Little dragons started spitting fire in my stomach as I looked at him with a smile. He was looking at me also with an honest smile.
-Hello, Clara. You look very nice- he said with a big smile, kissing my cheek.
-Oh, thank you. You look nice too, Tom.-
He blushed a bit:
-Thank you, darling.-
We got in the cab. The driver was very pleasant, and he was smiling too. For a second I thought I was dreaming, but then I heard Tom's beautiful voice:
-I hope you're hungry- he winked.
-Actually, I really am- I said with a wide smile. He let out a small laugh. Then turned to me. He was showing me I got his full attention. And I liked that.
-How's work? You said last night you're doing some... Stuff for your... Um... Computer science-
He blushed while saying that, and he looked very confused and embarrassed. I smiled holding back the laugh, because he was so cute, trying to talk about some things absolutely non-related to his job.
-Yes, I had some things to finish, and I did. Nothing special, to be honest. Thank you for remembering such a thing.-
He blushed again and smiled. That smile made my legs shake, even though I was sitting.
-Don't thank me, I don't even know how to pronounce those things...-
-And you don't even have to, really. Let's talk about something more interesting. How is your work? Any interesting scripts?-
-Well, actually, there are a few. One is particularly interesting. Have you read High-Rise by Ballard?-
-Yes, I have. One of the best novels I've read.-
-Absolutely genius, if you ask me. The way characters...-
And we continued to talk about High-Rise. I watched him like I was trying to memorise every move of his lips, his hands, every glimpse of excitement in those blue eyes. How passionate he was while talking about something so marvelous. How excited he was when he realised we have almost the same opinion on that novel, and the way we saw characters was amazingly identical.
Fire-spitting dragons in my stomach grew stronger as the conversation went forward. And yes, the chemical reaction happening in my body was exactly what you think it was. But I didn't want to accept it just yet.
I kept looking at him, admiring his knowledge, and trying not to look stupid while doing so. He talked with passion about the way the system was described in the book, the way he saw Royal, and the motives for Laing to become the person he became by the end of the novel.
-We're here, sir.- the driver said with a smile. Tom smiled, looking a bit embarrassed.
-I'm so sorry, I talk too much sometimes.-
-You don't. You just have a lot to say, and that's wonderful.- I said with a smile. He smiled back:
-Let's go inside then. It will be more bearable to keep listening to me, while we eat. I'm starving!- he said laughing.
He stepped outside the vehicle, holding the door for me. The restaurant was fancy, but not too much. It was in a form of caffe/restaurant, but it had a dress code.
-I hope you like it- he said insecurely.
-I like it, really.- I said with a smile.
As we walked in, the waiter came to Tom and showed us to our table. It was by the window, so we could see the town. It was beautiful.
The same waiter took our order, and brought us dinner quite quickly.
We talked and laughed for the whole evening. There was no awkward silence in any moment. We talked like we knew each other for a long time. Well, to be honest, I've known him for a long time. He he.
But, seriously now. I have never been enchanted with someone's personality as I was with his. He was something different and special. Something pure. And I am not objectifying him by saying "something", I'm just trying to show how much more than a simple, ordinary man he is.
Talking with him felt like swimming in the purest sea you've ever seen.
