To begin with, pit-bulls can make good pets because they can be used for protection. As stated in sorce3, "Stubby once saved his entire platoon by warning them of a poison gas attack." This shows that Pit-Bulls actually saved a lot of lives. They can also scare any pest away in your yard for example, they can scare robbers away from your house and other dog you don't want in your yard too.
