I stared at my mother. "We're moving back to the pack?!" I shouted surprised.

My mom looked away. "Yes."

"But why?" I asked incredulously. Will she be able to handle it? "You said you never wanted to go back since..." Since dad died.

"I know..." My mom sighed. "but we have to and that means that our past can't change what needs to be done."

"Are you going to be okay?" I ask slowly. It may have been 11 years since my dad's death but I never brought it up because of the pain that flashed through my mother's eyes.

"Yes sweetie, I'll be fine," she turned towards the computer. "Besides it would be nice to see everyone again."

I stood up. "Okay well I guess I'll go pack. When do we leave?"

"In one week."

"Got it." I walked towards the door then turned around. "Mom?"

"Yes?"

"I just wanted to say if things get hard just know I'll be with you."

She smiled as she got up and went around her desk to hug me. "I know but it's been eleven years since that day and I know things will be alright even though it might be awkward at first."

I pulled away from our embrace. "Well better go and tell Alec too."

"Yes please do."

I left her office and headed outside HQ to trying to find Alec.

~Later~

"Hey tiger lily." Alec waves at me casually.

"Where have you been? No never mind we need to talk." I say as I get into to his car.

"What's wrong?" He asks frowning. "Did your mom tell you about what's been going on?"

I shook my head. "Yes and no."

He glanced at me. "What do you mean?"

I sighed. "Well she said she hasn't found out anything yet and she's been really stressed about it."

"It's alright," Alec said as he placed his hand on my hand. "So what else is bothering you?"

I looked out the window. "We have to move again."

We stopped at a red light and he turned to look at me. "Okay? We've moved before so why is now any different? Do you not want to leave?"

"No it's not that it's just," I looked at him. "We are moving back to my packs hometown."

"Oh."

I smiled faintly . "Yeah, but I don't really mind it's just that I'm worried about mom."

He smiled back at me. "Okay but I think your mom can handle things. Besides she's a grown woman and not to mention head of the council."

"Haha I know but I can look out for her sometimes like she does for us."

"That's true." The light turned green and Alec squeezes my hand before moving his hand away to drive. "It's going to be alright. I'll be here for you." I stared at him wondering how I could have such an amazing friend. He always looked out for me and I was grateful for that.
