"Come on Jo! I have to have Diamond tacked up and ready to go on set by 3," I glance down at my watch, "It is exactly 2:00. You know how much I hate maneuvering a truck and trailer through downtown LA, especially on a time crunch!" I yell at my best friend and head stable hand.

You'd think that being hired by someone as famous as Liam Payne would maybe give my employees some incentive to be on top of things and be early...oh no. Apparently my employees do not discriminate, and will be working at their own pace no matter the client.

"Well you know Collin, if you'd bring me with you...perhaps I'd speed up with getting this tack together." Jo says wryly, purposefully making her strides take longer.

"And have you pass out at the sight of someone famous? I think not. How embarrassing that would be for your soul, first of all. Second, embarrassing for me. And third, embarrassing for Kenworth Stables. Very bad for business. So no, I'm afraid you're gonna have to sit this one out." I pat Jo's shoulder a few times, all the while biting back my laughter at the scowl she's giving me.

She puffs up, "Just because you have a cooler demeanor.. I so would not pass out."

I give her a look, and she quickly smiles innocently.

"Okay, maybe I'd pass out just a little. But it'd be warranted if I saw someone I liked. I just get excited. You know I can't help it."

"Please. Just put the saddle in the trailer. I have got to get going. It's going to be rush hour very soon." I urge my friend with a shooing motion of the hands.

Thankfully she relents, "Fine! But you so owe me for this."

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever. I'll give you a bonus on your next paycheck or something. I've got to go, I'll talk to you later!" I holler back at her while climbing up into the large truck.

I am so going to be late.

I fish my phone from my pocket and dial the number for the person I was told to contact, Phil or something. It rings once before the familiar voice that I've been corresponding with for the past month answers,

"Collin! Oh I'm so glad to hear from you. Are you almost here? You were supposed to be here five minutes ago."

Thankfully his tone isn't angry at all, but rather amused. As if this kind of thing always happens.

"I'm sorry! I was already a little behind and then I've hit every red light in the whole city. But I'm probably about five minutes away. I'm not putting anything hugely behind schedule am I?" I ask guiltily. I am so going to whoop Jo's and all of my other employees' asses when I get back. Kenworth Stables is a pretentious, top of the line business. We are known for providing top-notch services. Not tardiness.

"Oh no, nothing at all. The actual filming won't happen for at least another hour. Liam isn't even here yet," He admits nonchalantly.

Internal breath of relief.

"Oh, well that's good then. I'll see you in a bit."

"See ya then, make sure you pull up to the back. And if anyone gives you trouble getting in, just tell them my name." And with that, he hangs up.

The next few minutes are filled with a string of cuss words, a few beads of sweat, and a couple of horn honks. LA drivers are the worst.

Eventually though, I reach my destination: the recording studio. Now, where to pull in? Phil said to go through the back entrance.
