Up in the sky. That's Heaven. Real high up. That's also where I live!
My name is Sakura Nagashima and I'm an angel. I've got lots of friends and everyone says I'm a good angel. It makes me happy.
As I walked around, a huge smile stuck on my face, I saw a dark-haired boy. Curious, I walked towards him. I'd never seen an angel with hair like that. Only angels with light-colored hair.
Of course, I myself have dark hair but he was the first other angel whom I'd seen like that. He didn't look very happy. Everytime I walk towards someone, they smile joyously. What's wrong with him?
I started to frown a little.
"Hello, I'm Sakura Nagashima. What's your name?" I asked as kindly as I could.
"Why should I tell you?" He asked warily. What's wrong? Do I sound cruel? Do I seem suspicious?
"I was only trying to nice." A small frown came across my pale face.
"Try harder." He replied. What? Is he serious?
"Look, I don't know what I've done to you but I like having friends and I merely wanted to befriend you." I complained a little.
"So I'm just to please you? No thanks." He said.
"Why do you dislike me so much?" I asked, disappointed.
"I don't dislike you. I absolutely despise, abhor and loathe you-" He said innocently. That's nice -_-
"Nevermind then." I started off, heartbroken. What did I ever do to him? I've never even met him before!
Then he grabbed my hand, stopping me from leaving. Make up your mind, dude. You hate me and then you stop me from leaving.
"I didn't finish my sentence. I absolutely despise, abhor and loathe your upbringing." He said, smirking.
"What's wrong with my upbringing?" I asked, confused.
"You're being lied to daily. You are told that lies are bad but everyone is lying to you. They don't care about you, they care about your power." He explained. My...power. No! They...They all love me because of who I am...not...not because of the forbidden grimoire...right?!?
He's the one lying! He has to be!
He won't even tell me his name! He can't be telling the truth!
But it just made so much sense...
"My name is Shiki Natsumezuka." He fiannly introduced himself. I eyed him warily. Then I reached a trembling hand out to shake his.
"Wh-why are you the first angel I've seen with hair as dark-colored as mine?" I asked. If he can answer this logically then what he says has to be true. Lying and hiding truth is similar and no one ever explained why I was the only one with dark hair.
"Dark hair apparently represents darkness. We are the future-fallen." He said, as though he'd accepted their discrimination a long time ago. How can he accept this just like that?
"I don't believe you!" Tears rolled down my cheeks. Is this how crying feels like? I've never cried before. I've seen humans cry and read stories where many cried but I've never cried.
I ran away. He didn't stop me this time though. I half-hoped that he would. I asked my parents about it. And before telling me that yes, that's true, they demanded how I learned of this. I was forced to tell them about poor Shiki.
Of course I was then warned to beware of him and others like him. So for the first time in my life, I argued back instead of listening obediently. That dude had a serious effect on me.
