Chapter 1: The night I turned

I really should have stayed home today. I never should have gave into Lydia, Jace, and Derek's plead but of course I gave in. I still have no idea why thay want to go to a high school party anyway. Just because Lydia's older sister is throwing it doesn't mean we should go.  But here I am in the car wearing black skinny jeans and my long sleeved t-shirt that showed my collar bones off and comes down to about my mid-thighs with it longer in the back with my combat boots and to finish it off my contacts. I really should have stayed home I wanted to spend some time with my dad before he leave in the morning for a business trip and with fall break just starting it would be boring and lonely without him in the house but he will be gone for 4 weeks so when school starts back at least I will have my friends. Our fall break is usually the 1st week of October then we go back and the is fling on Halloween night then we continue going until our 3 day break for Thanksgiving.
        I wonder if I can get a ride home with someone or maybe Jackson. No not Jackson he's a jerk but maybe we could talk. No, no talking he maybe one of my best friends but what he did to Cade is just plan mean. Cade is a new kid at school he is nice and sweet . He listens, walks with me to my classes, and takes me home since me and Jackson are fighting I could drive myself home since I was 16 I  turn 17 October the 31st  but I don't like driving.
        Now let me tell you a little about Cade he has brown hair with green eyes with a strong chin and he is is really built for a sixteen year old. He is 6'2eet tall but he's a good friend even if we have known each other for a short time I consider him a good one. I remember the day we met it was about 6 months ago.

There I was going to my locker. Today my dad dropped me off instead of getting on the bus. He had a business meeting in town today. I started to get my books for first period when Principle Hamilton came up to me. "Good morning Mr.Hamilton how are you today." I asked he smiled and said " I'm fine today Nicky but I wondering if you could help me with something I have a meeting with the board and I need someone to show two new students around the school if you don't mind"  "Of course not Mr.Hamilton I'll do it" I said. He said thank you and I put my books back and followed him to the office.  As I entered the office I saw two men well I man and someone who was about me age. They both stood up and man was they tall the older one was about 3 or 4 more inches taller the younger one. The younger one had to  be at least 6'2 feet tall the older one looked like he was in maybe 12th grade. As I came closer I felt them staring at me which isn't new a lot of people do it but I don't blame them. I get mistaken for a girl a lot because of my height of 5'1 and my baby face I have round cheeks, button nose, a pointed chin and of course flawless pale skin. I skinny around my middle my hips are wide and meaty that goes down onto my thighs. I had a friend that I used to sleep with that said that my skin was so soft and that he liked the way he could just grab my thighs or hips and his fingers just sink in a little but sadly our fling just lasted 5 months before he moved. My hair I always keep it on the long side just a little above my shoulders it is blond some parts look brown others Golden it all depends on the lighting, and of course lastly is my eyes not many have seen the color of my eyes before its a rare color my eyes are purple not to dark and not to light I've been told told they shine beautifully in the light. Many have said they can get lost looking into my eyes. Maybe I should have worn my glasses instead of my contacts they still haven't said anything yet. I look to Principle Hamilton for help he clears his throat and says "Gentlemen this is Nicholas Black he will be showing you around today. Nicky this is Cade and Jay Parks they are starting today Cade here will be in your grade while Jay is in 12th." I gave a small wave to them both, but they still just stared at me then Principal Hamilton said he had to go.
     As Principal Hamilton left I look at the both of them and they still staring at me and it is getting a little uncomfortable. I cleared my throat a little loud which seemed to bring them out of there trance. Then I said ," Hi I'm Nicholas, but you can call me Nicky." Then Jay seemed to get his head together fist and spoke " Hi sorry about that I'm Jay this is my little brother Cade." Then he elbowed Cade in the side who was still staring. "Oh sorry its just you look I don't know well anyway like he said I'm Cade and your Nicky right." I laughed a little at that and said " It's okay I'm used to the staring and before you ask yes this is my real eye color and yea I'm a boy." They both blushed as if it was exactly what they were going to ask and I just smiled which seemed to embarrass them more. " Sorry its just that I'm used to it I get asked all the time so don't fill bad " I said taking pity on them and there embarrassment. " Oh it's okay and we were rude to just stare at you like that" said Cade and I just smiled at them.

     I still smile just remembering it I wonder if he is here or maybe his brother we also became friends we watch movies about every Wednesday night. I think he is like a older brother to me he's really cool. Then my mind went back to Jackson I don't understand it he is so nice to me but to Cade he is just a jerk he pushes him all the time slamming him into lockers pushing his books out of his hand. You are probably thinking way doesn't he stop him well you see Jackson is tall about 6'4 maybe more and is made completely up of muscle. He has blond hair and deep blue eyes and has been my best friend's since we were babies something to do with our mom's being best friend's in high school or something like that. At first he was cool with him but when me and Cade got closer he started to get mad. I asked Jax (Jackson) about it he said that he was a wolf to. Oh I forgot Jackson, Cade, and Jay are werewolves but Jay and Cade don't know I know. I know about them well my whole life. Jax is the future alpha of his pack which is here in California and some pack land in Washington.  Jay is the future alpha of his pack which is in Mississippi and and Cade is the future alpha of his pack in California(a different pack for Jax.) From what Jax told me Jay and Cades father is the alpha in Mississippi but their mom is the only child of a pack in California so it goes to Cade when his grandfather steps down.
  As we pulled into the driveway i was thrown out of my thoughts. There was people all over the house the whole school was probably here. I look to Derek who was driving then I look in the back where Jace and Lydia were at and smiled at them. Yeah I can do this it's not that bad it's just people. I take my seatbelt off and we step out the car I look at my friend's one more time then we start walking to the house side by side.

     As we walk in I look around Lydia and Jace have already got lost in the sea of bodies. Derek stayed by my side and looked around. I grabbed his hand and started to walk to the kitchen for a drink. I grabbed one and handed one to Derek then we walked out back to the beach were we sat on a log near the bonfire. We started to talk about our week and what we might do over fall break.
After a while I heard a familiar laughter and I looked over and saw Cade talking with some of the football players. When he saw me I smiled and waved to him and turned back to Derek who was talking about joining the basketball team. I told him it was a good idea since he is the best player that I know. Then I felt someone sit beside me I turned thinking it was Cade but instead it was Jackson. Then all of a sudden Derek excused himself but to me it was like he was running with his tail between his knees on I forgot Derek is also a werewolf and he is in Jacksons pack but Lydia and Jace are human and don't know about the supernatural.

     After that I turned back to Jax and see him glaring at Derek's back so I hit him on the back of the head. He turned to look at me growled and ask "what was that for?" I looked at him and said "that was for scaring Derek off" "ha it just shows how weak he really is I don't know what you see in that loser for you to become friends" I looked at him my anger rising up.
     I can't believe him how can he go and treat my friends like that. I look at him one more time then I get up and slap him hard in the face. He had a stocked look on his face and then I said "don't talk about my friends that way", I looked around and see people looking at us. With one last look to Jackson's still shocked face I turned around and make my way back up to the house. With Cade following close behind. He stopped my just at the front of the house by the porch and asked me if I was alright. " Yea I'm fine just angry is all" I answered. "Do you want me to give you a ride home?" "No I want to walk and clear my head" " Okay are you sure I don't mind." " Cade I'll be fine I think I'm just going by the park and go home and spend time with my dad." " Okay I'll see you later call it you change your mind" " Kay I will bye see you later" I hug him and start making my way down the driveway and on the road.
       
       As I reach the park I go to the swing set and sit down. I think of what happened and what I did to Jax I couldn't believe I did that but I was angry with how he was acting and that wasn't the first time he put one of my friends down but I got tired of it. I usually ignore it but with all that is happening I lost control.
          All of a sudden I hear something from behind me.  I got up slowly and I turned around I walk away from the swing's in to a little clearing. I look around a I hear laughing and people talking they must from the party and it sounds like there getting closer. I start to turn around when I see a blue flash in the corner of my eye. Then next thing I know it I'm on my back as I look up in the sky a tall and handsome man with black hair and sharp cheekbones and and a strong jawbone his lips a bright red stained with blood with long fangs hanging out. The last thing I see is the Bright glowing Blue of his eyes. Then I scream.
