Trenda -A New World

Chapter 1- The safe haven

Thomas' P.O.V
The grass was greener that morning; it finally felt like summer. I looked out of the window to see daisies blooming out by the front of the house . I was admiring the sunrise when I saw a girl walk past the front of the house. I hadn't seen her before but I couldn't stop admiring her long blonde hair. It glistened in the sun and swished around in the summer breeze. I was jerked back to reality by a knock on the door. Minho.

"Morning, shank." He smiled sarcastically as if to hint at the fact that he was using a word from the glade.

"Morning," I mumbled, not realising how moody I sounded. "Miss me already?" I tried to add to the sarcasm.

"Oh yeah, I can't believe I even slept last night" He scoffed to himself.

"Have you seen Brenda?" I asked, maybe a bit too eagerly. However, I had been worrying about her.

"Nope probably hanging around with Jorge." He shrugged. "I uh ... I'm sorry about Teresa."

My heart dropped to my stomach with the mention of her name. She sacrificed herself for me and I never even forgave her after what she had done.

My heart sunk even lower.

"Hey Thomas? You okay?"

"Yeah.Sorry.I just ... I uh."

"I know. Hey listen how about we go for a nice walk and get some firewood." He slapped me on the back .Typical Minho.

"Sure." I thought that maybe we might see Brenda on the way to the woods, maybe even Jorge.

We walked for about an hour , the woods were much farther away than I  had thought. I decided to  take in my new surroundings. 'The Safe Haven'- it was mostly fields and a few houses dotted here and there. There was a cliff nearby, somewhere I liked to sit and think. There were shops and small markets where you could buy whatever it was you needed. We finally got to the woods and after a long while Minho broke the silence. "Woah. Reminds me of the Glade."

My head spun. The Glade. Alby , Ben, Winston, Chuck and Newt. Newt. I had completely forgotten that I hadn't told Minho what had happened to Newt.

I was about to speak when Minho said " Man I wish Newt could of seen this ." It was as if he had read my mind, in which that case I really hope he hadn't. I felt my stomach turn with the mention of Newt.

"Yeah." I finally said, a tear escaping my eye.
