After my mom calmed down she told me everything I needed to know about the situation. There was a plane crash. Our plane was having engine trouble. The pilot had to make an emergency landing but there wasn't an airport within 1,000 miles. Luckily we landed in a field, but on the way down, the plane burst into flames. Everyone was forced to jump out. The evacuation was successful but the parachutes were damaged. Over 50 parachutes failed. Including my dad's.
