The Beginning of the End

One week has past. Kenny pulls up to Zach's driveway. He doesn't get out the car. Kenny has been ignoring Zach since the day he confessed to Casey. He figured it was time to tell him... He exited the car. Zach was sitting on the porch step. Zach was surprised. "Kenny?" Zach asked. "Hey Zach.." Kenny says incompletely. "What's wrong? Are you okay?" Zach says worried. Kenny sits beside him. "How much do I mean to you? You mean the world... You're my best friend. I'd do anything for you..." Zach finishes. "Can I ask you if I tell you something.." Kenny tries to get out. "Kenny you can tell me anything..." Zach says. "Please don't get mad..." Kenny is nervous. "I am in love with Casey and we had sex..." Kenny finishes. Zach face was calm. His eyes were bright but instantly the color changed. "Zach..." Kenny tries to reach out to him. "No I'm okay... Trust me.." Zach says. His eyes are like almost to blackish blue. Like all the light he had just disappeared. "Zach..." Kenny says. Feeling completely like shit. Kenny raises his hand to put it on Zach's shoulder. But Zach quickly grabs his hand. Softly he grabs Kenny's hand. Holding his hand with both of his. Zach is staring at his hand. Kenny looks into his eyes. All he sees is pain and brokenness. "I got to go." Zach says. "Zach no please stay..." Kenny begs. Zach looks back at him. The terror in his eyes, Kenny gets shivers down all his body. "Please don't leave.." Kenny says. On the verge of tears. Zach looks into his eyes. He sees the fear of him losing his best friend. Zach sits down next to him. And puts his head on Kenny's shoulder. "Never..." Zach says. Kenny tears dropping from his face. Nods his head. "I'm so sorry." Kenny sincerely says. Still crying. Zach intertwines his hand with his. "Kenny look at me." Zach says. Kenny looks into his eyes. Kenny sees the light coming back into his eyes. "If you are happy with her... Than I'm happy. That's all I've ever wanted was for you to be happy." Zach says. Kenny grips Zach's hand even harder, now crying Kenny hugs Zach tightly, Zach hugs back. "Hey... Look at me." Zach says. Kenny looks up. When he looks up he sees Zach's color all come back. "Go to her!" Zach says. Kenny shakes his head no. "I want to be here with my best friend." Kenny exclaims. Zach shakes his head no. "Go to her I'll be okay." Zach finishes and Zach smiles. Kenny with tears still coming out of his eyes smiles. He gets into his car and starts it up. Zach knocks on the window. Kenny rolls down the window. Zach grabs Kenny's hand. "Be careful okay?" Zach asks. Kenny nods and backs out of the driveway and leaves Zach's house smiling.
