She took her sketchbook with her almost anywhere she went.
Especially on days like these where she and Dyrus would spend the day exploring Santa Monica. They planned on stopping by the pier and the beach that day since that's where Mizuki found the most interesting of characters. She knew, however, that the person she found the most intriguing out of everyone in Santa Monica-- or maybe even the world-- lived next to her and was always by her side. The same went for Dyrus, and they were both glad that was their reality.
That day, Mizuki planned on filling a few pages of her sketchbook with all the people that stood out to her such as the surfing beginner trying to conquer the waves, but crashing down into them instead. Or the shy couple that would show their affection with quick kisses and awkward giggles afterwards. Or the teenage girl struggling to control the five dogs she was walking. Maybe she would try drawing the guy whose body was decorated with tattoos. She could also try sketching the couple holding hands as they skateboarded down the pier. Even with all these choices, Mizuku would definitely have a drawing or two of Dyrus.
When they sat down to enjoy the ice cream they bought earlier, Mizuki was sketching a headshot of Dyrus as they decided where they would go next, making sure to capture his tousled hair and how the smile in his eyes shone.
What Mizuki didn't plan was the moments when Dyrus's hand slipped into hers. Or when the sun was setting as she was leaning against the railing. Dyrus came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist while placing his chin on her head.
"What do you want Dyrus?" Mizuki laughed and leaned back against his chest.
"Nothing else when I'm with you," he mumbled and pressed his lips on the top of her head. Mizuki turned around quickly and hid her face in his chest.
"What was that for you nerd?" she said, her words barely audible.
"You're cute, so why not?" he laughed. After a second, Mizuki looked back up at him.
"Fine then," she said before standing on her toes to peck his cheek.
"Okay you had no reason to do that!" Dyrus stuttered out as she did so.
"Of course I do," she smirked.
"Well, what is it?"
"You're cute, so why not?" Mizuki giggled and turned back around.
"Why do you do this to me?" he laughed with her. She shrugged and leaned against him again while they continued watching the sunset.
Dyrus carefully pulled the stray hairs away from her face and kissed the top of her head again. He really couldn't ask for anything else at that moment. All he really wanted was to stay like this for as long as time would let them. The feeling she gave him whenever she was around was absolutely indescribable, and he loved it as much as he loved her.

The two were found in Dyrus's room three hours later taking a nap. Mizuki was laying on Dyrus's back as they talked about league and anime. Luckily, she was light enough to not hurt his back too much which is one of the two reasons why Dyrus didn't mind. The other reason was that she was Mizuki. Their conversation lasted about two hours until Mizuki stopped replying. Noticing this, Dyrus looked back to see her asleep. The corners of his lips rose when he saw her, and he decided that he should sleep too. He carefully shifted his position to get a little bit more comfortable, making sure that Mizuki was undisturbed and stayed on his back, before drifting off.
