Hey guys this is your author here! I would just like to say that this is one of my many books I am proud of but is the only one I have shared with my family. I realized that my chapters were crappy and after long conversations with some of my family members the first chapter "break one" is under heavy construction.

Also please don't just read this book and not comment I love hearing from my readers and it would be great if y'all could help me out with grammar and spell checks. If you believe that this is not realistic enough please tell me because I don't want this to be one of those out of this world books- even though most of my books are paranormal. I want this to be real life and will expand on this point in a minute.

I also had some people ask me about the title and I kinda answered this in a short little authors note but did not expand on the point enough for everyone to grasp the full concept of how I would like this book to turn out- even though I am entirely winging this. Anyways here is an explanation that will hopefully clear things up for y'all and if anyone asks any questions ( this is for those of you like me who skip over authors notes) I will refer to this page and you will have to endure all of my babbling unfortunately. I know life is so hard for you poor, poor people. *note heavy sarcasm*

Melody is a 12 (almost 13) year old girl who has been sheltered her whole life from the inappropriate and hardships of the outside world. Her two loving parents have kept her innocent and( until the dramatic scene that you will read about later) has never seen or even heard about some of the things that are happening. Now I'm gonna stop here of a second mainly because I am using this book kinda like a reflection on my childhood or life until the age of almost 13. But I will have you know that the dramatic thing that ruins my innocence is NOT nearly as drastic as hers.

My parents are very overprotective and have always tried their hardest to keep the bad stuff away from me. I was homeschooled for most of my life until 8th grade (hint- the grade melody's going into to) and was an innocent angel. Well maybe I wasn't an angel exactly but I was almost as innocent as melody is at this point. But the evil put of despair called school was were I was corrupted by an extremely inappropriate race called teenagers. Now continuing on with explanation of book.

The title "the China doll" plays in important role and let me tell you I felt EXTREMELY proud of myself after getting the idea of this book on paper. As you all know a china doll is fragile and is made in China. The fact that they are made in China has nothing to do with this however the fragile part is key. You may be wondering why I labeled my chapter "break one" instead of "chapter one" or some goofy title like I did with "the human race". Well that's because she is supposed to be a China doll. Now that doesn't mean we're she's gonna break or die or anything like that. The glass or fragility of the China doll is supposed to symbolize her innocence.

Every chapter I write her two year old innocence will disappear. A piece will break off every time she is exposed to something and the efforts of her parents will be fruitless as she battles the outside world constantly being bombarded with different obstacles and her struggle to say no to the bad things of this place we call society.
