The bell rang, signaling the end of the school day.
"Finally!" Fin yawned obnoxiously; raising her arms over her head and stretching herself out. Fin has a nice body -- lean and slightly muscular, dark skin, chocolate brown eyes, and straight brown hair. She caught me looking and glared. "You can look but can't touch."
"I might not be able to resist." I replied with a smirk. She rolled her eyes and punched my arm; she grabbed my shirt and pulled me along with her through the halls. Finally releasing my shirt when we were halfway down the hall. I wasn't observing my surroundings, I was consumed by Fin talking about having plans this weekend and she was inviting me.
"Sure Fin, I'll go. We could be each others dates."
"I'd never go on a date with you. That's nasty." I took a step back, with a look of pain plastered on my face before rubbing my face as if I was crying.
"W-w-why Fin... How c-c-could you say th-that?" I stuttered my words purposely to annoy her -- it worked. She turned around and gave me an annoyed look. I laughed; we continued to walk together, laughing at how stupid we are.
I suddenly had a sense of danger close by; I tensed up and looked around, trying not to be too obvious. The feeling grew stronger, causing the hairs on the back of my head to stand rigid, my muscles tensed up too, readying myself for an attack. Fin was watching me curiously, with a look of utter confusion in her eyes. I turned back to her with a sheepish smile and shrugged it off.

"So are we on for this weekend?" Fin asked me when we reached her house.
"Yeah, I'll pick you up around 7." She nodded; turning on her heels and walked inside. I waited till she shut the door before walking down the road. The sun was setting, leaving the sky a bright orange, it was almost like the sky was on fire. I stopped at the edge of the block to watch the sky, few clouds were in the air and they seemed to get consumed by the sky fire.
"Admiring the sky? It'll be the last thing you see!" My head shot towards the source of that voice -- to no avail. My heart was aggressively pounding, and I could have sworn it would be bruised by how hard it was beating my chest. My eyes narrowed as I continued to look for the threatening perpetrator.
"You will pay for what you've done!" I heard them scream at me before I was tackled to the ground. I was caught from the back and landed on my chest; the air slipped past my lips in a rush, leaving my lungs empty and slowly choking me. Breathless and dizzy, I at least wanted to know my killer, as I turned I saw him -- the kid from this afternoon! His eyes were again raging with hateful flames, but they glowed a sickening blood red.I was spun around, onto my back. We were face to face now; I could see his eyes more clearly and they looked empty. My eyes tattooed his eyes into my brain, and I felt heat from those flames in his eyes, I would have died if looks could kill. His hands shot from his sides and wrapped themselves like a snake around my neck; and with that snake like vice, he slowly began to crush my windpipe. I quickly felt the affects of lack of oxygen -- dizziness, fatigue, and black dotted vision. My body was convulsing; my fight or flight instincts kicked in hardcore, my hands held his wrists to try and release his grip enough that I can make a cohesive thought.
Adrenaline became my best friend in that moment -- it sent much needed energy through my muscles, and enough of it so that I can part his vice grip and take a needed inhale. My victory was short lived as he pushed his weight down on my weakening arms, and got his hands around my trachea once more. My head was banging -- or at least it felt like it; my heart was beating like a drum and reverberated all over my body. In my last ditch effort, I gathered my last bit of energy and went to punch him; before I even lifted my arm he was off of me. Air invaded my lungs again and soothed my headache. Before he had a chance to recover, I pulled myself up and looked for him. He flew pretty far -- he landed on the next block over, inside of a thorn bush. My body felt so weak and being so close to death, I was willing to sit on the ground for awhile, savoring the moment.
"I had to save you again, didn't I Stephen?" I froze. Even though I needed it, my breathing stopped. My heart once again began to race. The air itself seemed to go rigid and cold; and without looking, I could tell that I had goosebumps along my arms. My eyes were transfixed on the guy's body still; I just couldn't move my eyes to find the source. A terror filled feeling was settling into my stomach like a boulder. A gentle hand stroked my shoulders and I could've sworn my soul leapt right out of my very skin -- I know my heart basically did.
I felt sharp nails just grazing my shoulders and sliding across my exposed skin. Suddenly, I couldn't breathe again. This is about to become a normal fucking thing, I swear. I mentally rolled my eyes with the thought. I don't know why, but I shut my eyes tight, so I wouldn't see the person who was coming between me and oxygen.
"Now don't be rude Stephen. Look at me when I'm speaking to you." That voice shot daggers into my heart. My heart beat hitched and the feeling of guilt rose up like bile. I shook my head as best I could with their hand around my neck; I didn't want to speak because I would smell them and it would cripple me from the inside out.
Their grip tightened too quickly for me to react. My eyes shot open and sending forth poison from my vision. I couldn't look away now.
"W-what are you doing here?" I softly whispered. I didn't think she heard me. I assumed she must have because she let out a howl of laughter.
"I came back for you silly..."
