His eyebrows furrowed, Lee Sungyeol carefully painted the finishing touches on his latest piece of artwork. He set his paintbrush down and took a step back to admire the portrait. As always, the focus of his photo was the famous singer and actor Nam Woohyun.
Sungyeol smiled proudly at his painting and left it to dry. He went to his kitchen and got out some leftovers to eat for his lunch. While he waited for his food to heat up, Sungyeol checked his phone and saw that he had a lot of Instagram notifications.
Sungyeol clicked on the first one, which was a post notification for Woohyun's Instagram. He liked the photo and screenshotted it so that he could draw it soon. He then went into his notifications on the navigation bar and noticed that there were a lot more comments than usual.
"Congratulations, Sungyeol-oppa!"
"Nice job! This is amazing!"
"I'm so jealous! Why does Woohyun-oppa only ever notice you?!"Sungyeol stared at his phone screen in confusion. He scrolled down through his account notifications and saw that Woohyun had reposted some of his art again. Smiling softly, Sungyeol liked the pictures and commented, "Thank you Woohyun!"
Sungyeol finished his meal and went to his room to take a shower and get ready. To destroy the daunting silence of his apartment, Sungyeol sang along to a few songs while he got ready, his voice diminishing when Infinite songs came on so that he could listen to Woohyun's angelic voice.
Sungyeol had been told by his boyfriend many times that his voice was even prettier than Woohyun's. He would say that if Sungyeol would just audition for a record label, he would easily pass it, and the country would instantly fall in love with him.
"Wouldn't you be jealous if the entire country was in love with me, though?" Sungyeol would reply, laughing at the cute pout that would spread across his boyfriend's face after he realized that Sungyeol was right.
His boyfriend would then wrap his arms tightly and protectively around Sungyeol, hugging him from behind and curling into him as the two of them relaxed on the couch together. He would make Sungyeol promise to never leave him, not that Sungyeol would anyway. If anything, it should've been Sungyeol requesting that. After all, his boyfriend was the famous one anyway.
It did seem like Sungyeol's boyfriend cared for Sungyeol more than Sungyeol cared for him though. Even when his boyfriend was tired from his busy schedules, he would make sure to spend time with Sungyeol and tell him how much he missed him. When he was on tour and couldn't see Sungyeol in person, he made sure to video chat with Sungyeol at least once a day.
Although Sungyeol and his boyfriend had been together for over a year, neither of them had said the l-word yet. Sungyeol believed that true love was a deep connection that couldn't be formed after a few months of knowing one another and being together. Because of this, even when he felt strong pulls towards his boyfriend during the first few months of their relationship, he didn't call it love. Looking back on it now, he knew he was definitely right in doing so. His feelings for his boyfriend now were much stronger than they used to be.
Sungyeol knew that he truly loved his boyfriend now, and he was finally ready to confess to him. His boyfriend was going to be getting off of work earlier today, so Sungyeol was going to order Chinese food for them so that they could relax. Though Sungyeol was going to buy their meals, he decided that he would use this opportunity to tell his boyfriend how he really felt by baking him a small treat.
Sungyeol put on an apron and clasped his hands together. He looked at the recipe in his cooking book and furiously got to work, putting the ingredients into the bowl. Sungyeol fumbled slightly and cursed under his breath, but continued to work hard making the fortune cookies. He rolled out the dough and broke it into pieces, sculpting each individual cookie so that it looked perfect.
